How to Become Pregnant With HPV|cervical cancer infertility Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, is a virus that primarily affects the genital area. There are over 100 different types of HPV, and at least 13 of those strains cause cancer. Two strains in particular - HPV types 16 and 18 - are responsible for roughly 70% of cervical cancer cases worldwide.[1] In most cases, HPV will clear up on its own using your own body's defenses, but some people develop complications like genital warts or cancer if the virus is left untreated.[2] If you are considering pregnancy and know that you have HPV, you may have concerns about becoming pregnant or passing the virus to your baby. Having HPV does not typically affect a woman's ability to conceive or to have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby

How to Undergo a Lung Biopsy|mesothelioma lung cancer A lung biopsy can sound like a scary operation, but it is a fairly minimally invasive procedure in most cases. Consult with your doctor about your symptoms, your overall health (especially about any medications you are currently taking), and follow all pre-op instructions. Ask a friend to drive you home after the biopsy. 1 Record your symptoms. If you think you may have a problem with your lungs, you should write down what symptoms you are experiencing. Keep a journal over a period of several days or weeks so that you can show your doctor a detailed account of what you’ve been feeling lately. This will help your doctor make an informed decision about whether or not you need a lung biopsy. Keep track of things like difficulty breathing, localized pain, shortness of breath, fever/chills, and coughing up blood. There are also online symptom trackers and apps for your phone that you can use to record your symptoms and show to your doctor later 2 Consult with your doctor. Talk to your doctor about any concerns you might have about your overall health, or your lungs specifically. Bring your symptom records and discuss them with your doctor.[2] Your doctor may ask you to do some preliminary tests before deciding that a biopsy is necessary. This could include chest X-rays, CT scans, an MRI, chest ultrasound, bronchography, chest fluoroscopy, or a positron emission tomography (PET) scan. 3 Discuss your current medical conditions with your doctor. In order to determine if any extra precautions need to be taken for a lung biopsy, you’ll need to inform your doctor about any preexisting medical conditions you may have. This especially includes things like pregnancy, diabetes, allergies, and any medicines you may be currently taking (especially blood thinners). Remember to also give your doctor a comprehensive medical history. 4 Consider your overall health. As with any medical procedure, there are some risks involved wi

How to Help Prevent Ovarian Cancer|birth control ovarian cancer Women with intact reproductive organs have two ovaries, and cancer that starts in either ovary is called ovarian cancer. While risk remains low, all women who have ovaries also have some risk for ovarian cancer, which accounts for about 3% of cancers in women.[1] There is no way to guarantee you will not get ovarian cancer, but there are ways to help prevent it. 1 Reduce your risk with your reproductive choices. Although scientists aren't sure why, you can reduce your risk for ovarian cancer by making certain choices about having children and controlling your fertility. You can reduce your risk for ovarian cancer by having at least one baby. Studies show that the more pregnancies you have, the more you can reduce your risk.[2] You can also reduce your risk by using birth control pills (containing both estrogen and progesterone) for at least five years.[3] A history of breast feeding or hysterectomy may also reduce the risk of ovarian cancer in women.

Side Effects From Beta Blockers - What Are Side Effects From Beta Blockers? Beta blockers, beta-adrenergic blocking agents, work by blocking adrenaline. Their use in treating both common and serious conditions is on the rise. However, because of serious side effects resulting from their use, they are not often regarded as a first choice in treatment. The intended effects of this medicine are to lower the heart rate, dilate blood vessels and, in some cases, constrict air pathways. For this reason, they are used in the treatment of arrhythmia, high blood pressure, heart failure, angina, tremor, migraines and glaucoma. As with any drug, side effects can be a problem. In some cases, beta blockers side effects include diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. They have also been linked to rashes, blurred vision, muscle cramps, fatigue and sexual dysfunction. In other cases, they have been shown to cause headaches and dizziness. That adds up to quite a few side effects. For some people, there is a concern about beta blockers side effects as a contributor to psychological problems such as depression, confusion, nightmares and hallucinations. Because of those beta blockers side effects, it is obvious that women anticipating pregnancy, who are currently pregnant or are currently breastfeeding should not take them.
