Classic Game Room reviews PULSTAR for Neo Geo CD. This side scrolling horizontal SHMUP from 1995 is a popular, beloved side scroller for the Neo Geo but does it live up to the hype and the high price tag? Pilot a space ship against waves of enemies, dodge alien laser blasts, mechanized crushy things and tentacles, you know the drill.... if it moves shoot it. Fans of the R-Type series should love Pulstar. The oversized, slowly moving space ship flies through tunnels and environments on its way to fight end bosses and mindless waves of enemies. Pulstar stands out because of the crushing difficulty and amazing visuals. Graphically this is one beautiful game with some stunning animations and art design. Although Pulstar does suffer from slowdown and horrible loading time, if its sci fi space ship shooter action you crave then Pulstar has got what you need. This CGR review of Pulstar has gameplay from Pulstar on Neo Geo CD showing Pulstar shmup game play in action.

Enerpulse, Inc. has just released its newest ad campaign called, "Tired of getting beat up at the pump?" The print ad has a dark and gritty, Fight Club- inspired slant, while the television ad features an animated gas pump that literally springs to life, beating up a reluctant male motorist as he fills up his tank. The campaign was developed by Albuquerque-based Esparza Advertising and was produced by Los Angeles-based Continuum Content. According to Del Esparza, President of Esparza Advertising, "We wanted to tap into the pain people feel when they fill their tanks with a $100 of gasoline." Also, Chris Buckley, CEO of Continuum Content said, "The gas pump needed a unique personality that would allow us to generate several interesting ad episodes." Blazing Star review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Classic Game Room reviews BLAZING STAR for iPad from SNK Playmore which was originally released on the Neo-Geo MVS in 1998. Blazing Star is a side scrolling space ship shooter (or SHMUP) that rocks the iPad when combined with a joystick controller like the iCade. You need to play this game with a joystick and buttons! Hammering away on the fire button shoots, holding it down releases a powerful shot and the other button does fancy things with it (that kept getting me exploded!). Blazing Star is the sequel to Pulstar and rocks with awesome gameplay, level designs, superb visuals and catchy music.

One of my all-time favs! Koto is an Italian synth pop group that originally consisted of Anfrando Maiola and Stefano Cundari. Their most popular songs were "Visitors", "Dragon's Legend", "Chinese Revenge" and "Jabdah", released in 1983-1988. Koto is often associated with a genre of music called Spacesynth, a music style streamed from Space Disco. Unfortunately, it has been reported that Stefano Cundari died some time between 1991 and 1992 from a brain tumor. Anfrando Maiola and Stefano Cundari helped to form Memory Records, an Italian record company which specialised in mainly Italo Disco releases. Koto's "Chinese Revenge" was the first record to be released on the Memory label. It sold over 10,000 copies in Italy alone. Both artists also helped to write, mix, and produce for a range of other artists signed to the Memory Records label, including "Challenger" and "Happy Song" for the band Baby's Gang. Stefano Cundari is also known for his participation in the group "Hipnosis" from 1982-1987. Following their successful debut with "Chinese Revenge" both Maiola and Cundari helped remix the Vangelis track "Pulstar" for Hipnosis. Their remix of Pulstar reportedly sold over 200,000 copies worldwide. By 1986 the mood of the record buying public was starting to change. House Music was becoming increasingly popular, and the demand for Italo Disco tracks appeared to be in decline. Memory Records, along with other Italo record companies of the time, started to suffer financially. Although attempts were made to respond to the changes by releasing House Music and Eurobeat tracks, the change was not successful and Memory Records went out of business. In 1989, the German record label ZYX Music bought the rights to the entire Memory Records catalog, including the "Koto" name and recordings. They then brought in Dutch record producer Michiel van der Kuy to re-record and remix some of the old Koto tracks. He then released several other albums under the alias "Koto" in which he remixed science fiction movie themes and other songs, like "Koto Plays Synthesizer World Hits" and "Koto Plays Science-Fiction Movie Themes". Michiel van der Kuy is also a member of the group Laserdance and producer for the likes of Alice DeeJay. In recent years, Anfrando Maiola won back the rights to the "Koto" name and continues to produce music under this name. His latest tracks were: "Koto Is Still Alive" (2001) and "Blow The Whistle" (2003). Koto was a one man project driven by Anfrando Maiola. Stefano Cundari was part of the producer team Zanni & Cundari, producing most likely all music for the record label Memory Records. Anfrando wrote the music, Zanni & Cundari produced it...... Compositor, arreglador y productor. Keith Spencer-Allen - Ingeniero de sonido.

This is a very rare DVD from the amazing concert performed by Vangelis during the celebration of the european scientific project "Eureka". This concert took place at the beautiful docks in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 18th July 1991, where a floating stage was made for Vangelis with his synths and the choir, surrounded by Greek ornaments. Some buildings and boats around were animated by projections of colors and laseranimation. Track List: 1. Chariots Of Fire 2. Spiral 3. Other Side Of Antartica 4. Chung Kuo 5. Glorianna 6. Pulstar 7. Mask (Movement II) 8. Italian Song 9. Kinematic 10. Mask (Movement V) 11. Hymne
