1. Understand that most of your height will be determined by genetics.
Height is a polygeneic trait, meaning that it's influenced by several different genes. Having two short parents doesn't necessarily mean you'll be short, just as two tall parents won't make you a towering giant. However, if most of the people on both sides of your family are short, odds are that you'll be short, too. Don't be discouraged, though - the truth is that you can't know how tall you'll be until you reach full physical adulthood in your mid-20s.
2. Avoid growth-stunting factors.
There might not be a lot you can do to increase your height, but you can take several steps to make sure your natural height isn't shortened by environmental influences. Drugs and alcohol are both thought to contribute to stunted growth if they're ingested while you're young, and malnutrition can keep you from reaching your full height, as well.
3. Get plenty of sleep.
Research suggests that growing teenagers and pre-teens need between 8.5 and 11 hours of sleep every night. This is because your body grows and regenerates tissue while you're at rest. Make your sleeping environment as calm as possible, and try to eliminate loud nosies and unnecessary light. If you have trouble falling asleep, try taking a warm bath or drinking a hot cup of chamomile tea before bed.
4. Eat right.
Ensuring that you're getting all the vitamins and minerals your body requires will help you grow to your full height. Take a supplement targeted at your age group with breakfast each morning, and try to incorporate certain foods into your diet.
5. Keep your immune system strong.
Some childhood illnesses can stunt your growth. Most of them can be avoided by the routine immunizations you may have had as a baby, but stay on the safe side by ingesting plenty of Vitamin C (found in citrus fruits such as oranges, grapefruits and lemons) and getting plenty of rest as soon as you notice that you feel sick.
6. Exercise your body.
Sadly, if your growth plates have closed, exercising will not affect your growth rate. But if you enjoy swimming, biking, running, or yoga, among other sports, and you haven't stopped growing, exercise combined with the right diet and proper sleep should help you grow.
7. Practice good posture.
Rolling your shoulders or hunching over can actually affect the curvature of your growing spine (and not in a good way). Keep your shoulders back, chin high, and hips over your feet. Walk with purpose instead of slouching or slinking, and try to sit up straight when you're in chairs. Even if you're not actually getting taller, good posture will make you look taller.
8. Cultivate confidence.
Being taller might be nice, but it can't make up for a general lack of confidence. Try to talk yourself into feeling comfortable in your own skin, and being generally happy with your looks no matter how tall you turn out to be. A positive attitude will more than make up for any lacking height.
9. Visit a medical professional.
If you're from a tall family and you're not growing by your mid-teens, or if your height hasn't changed much from before puberty to during puberty, then it's a good idea to see a doctor. Conditions that can stunt your growth (such as human growth hormone deficiency or autoimmune diseases) are fairly rare, but they do exist. If you're eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of rest but you're still not growing, then it's time to consult a doctor.

As a skinny guy you already have a slightly lower than average recovery ability... so you don't want extra-long workouts to aggravate this problem even further. #2 - Lift Heavy Weights Using Low Reps.
You should do sets of 3-4 reps and 8 reps should be your max. Anything over this and you'll be training less for muscle growth and more for endurance.
#3 - Focus On Calorie Dense Foods
These are foods that have a high calorie payoff, but don't fill you up as quickly. These are things like nuts, fruit, salmon, whole eggs, oats, avocados, and whole grains. These types of foods will give you the biggest "bang for your buck" as far as healthy calories are concerned.
#4 - Use Weight Gain Shakes To Add More Calories
Weight gain shakes are fantastic for guys who don't have a lot of time on their hands (which is most people these days.) These will help you get enough calories in your body each day without taking as much time to prepare and eat. These can also be good for when you're away from home and need to get a quick meal in.
#5 - Rest Your Muscles At All Other Times
This is where most guys drop the ball. They work out so hard in the gym, and they think if they KEEP working out every day they'll get even faster gains. Wrong. You need to give your muscles a chance to grow. And in order to do that they need rest.

MMA fighters' secret to getting ripped...EXPOSED:
Hey guys, in this video we're going to give you three tips to get a ripped body like an MMA fighter -- where you're not overly muscular, but you look natural, ripped, and athletic.
Tip #1 -- You don't have to train like a fighter to look like a fighter.
A lot of people watch MMA fights and think "man...those guys look awesome. But there's no way I can look like that -- those guys are professionals that train for eight hours a day!"
And it's true...the fighters you see in the UFC ARE typically devoting their life to training. But what a lot of people don't realize is that:
**You don't have to train like a fighter to LOOK like a fighter"
You can get that lean, ripped fighter LOOK by doing short 30 minute workouts 4-5 times per week, and by following the right diet. That's really good news for you if you want that lean, natural "fighter" look!
Of course, if you want to PERFORM like a fighter you will have to train like a fighter. Most of fighters training is for performance...to get better cardio, or to improve their fighting techniques. But you can get their LOOK with far less training. And while you probably won't be ready to fight GSP anytime soon...you'll still be much more athletic than most guys, even with these short 30 minute workouts.
Of course, the catch is that you can't do just ANY 30 minute workout and get fighter ripped. You have to be doing an INTENSE workout that both builds muscle and burns large amounts of calories.

Tip #2 -- Focus on the 3 "fighter lifts" in the gym
A lot of people don't know that almost all MMA fighters lift weights, but NOT the way normal people lift weights. They usually only lift weights 2-3 days a week, but they get MASSIVE results from their workouts.
MMA fighters follow a powerlifting routine focused on the "Big 3" powerlifting lifts. The lifts they focus on are:
⁃ Bench Press
⁃ Dead Lift
You will gain MUCH more muscle focusing on these lifts in your routine instead of doing lots of isolation exercises, and you'll get a natural looking body like a fighter.
BUT -- doing heavy power lifts regularly will get you injured if your form is not perfect. Make sure that you learn how to perform these lifts with great form from a coach you trust before doing them.
Tip 3: Use an Afterburn Training routine to get ripped like a fighter
Afterburn Training consists of heavy compound weightlifting combined with high intensity cardio. It's basically what MMA fighters do, minus the parts of their training that are only for their fighting techniques or athletic performance
