Sunday, June 22, 2008 Flip Cameras for Everyone, TBWA/Chiat Day's Rob Schwartz In a remarkable reflection of how the creative process of video production is changing the advertising agency world, Rob Schwartz, the top creative officer at TBWA/Chiat Day in Los Angeles, told me he is going to buy Flip cameras for everyone in the art and creative department at his agency's LA office. The office is one of the most creative and influential in the industry. Clients include Visa which will have a huge presence in the summer Olympics. We caught up with Rob at Advertising 2.0 in New York earlier this month. Although he made the statement about the camera as as sort of declaration of the ascendancy of new video tools and doesn't have immediate plans, it's fascinating to see how the creative process of advertising is being transformed. The Flip sells for something under $200 and easily downloads files to a PC or Mac. It's being used by several journalists and power bloggers including Kara Swisher and Dan Farber. Looks like it's headed for Madison Avenue next. -- Andy Plesser *******www.beet.tv/2008/06/flip-cameras-fo.html

A video set the Rob Zombie song "House of 1000 Corpses". <P> What this video ultimately means to me is the figurative death of my former self. It is a life I lived, whose path led only to ruin. It is a declaration that I have died to that life, and intend to live a life that allows me to receive my share of the abundance that the infinite power of the universe waits to provide for everyone. It also represents my hope and intention that my friends (the people I love) will die to that life as well. It is my statement of faith that I know and believe that the creator of everything is making this a reality. I made the video as graphic as I could handle (we live in a very graphic world nowadays) so that it would evoke an emotional response from whoever watches it. However, none of the images depicting death or cannibalism were real. That is why they flash by so quick - so people won't have the time to see how fake they are. What I am hoping for is that the reactions people have of the video will reveal a portion of their true nature. Those who celebrate and love partying and carrying on will believe it glorifies that kind of behavior and like the video for that reason. Those who hate the behavior depicted in the video will hate it. It also follows that those who partake in thoughts of death and the macabre will believe the video espouses and represents the same thoughts and emotions they have regarding our mortality. Everyone should have a different emotional response. But to me, the creator of the video, it means that I leave that life in the past. I no longer intend to participate in that kind of life. I have ultimately given it a death sentence and ended that life forever. I am no longer that person, and I never intend to walk that path again. It serves me as a reminder that I was dead to the reality of who I really am, and I have since died to the life I thought I wanted and needed. ---------------------------- House of 1000 Corpses by Rob Zombie (Lyrics) She got a corpse under her bed She had her fun but now he's dead Her momma said come feed desire Her brother said hey, throw him on the fire This is the house - come on in This is the house - built on sin This is the house - nobody lives This is the house - you get what you give Yeah yeah I cut the flesh and make it bleed Fresh skin is what I need I let it dry out in the wood And all your crying did no good, yeah This is the house - come on in This is the house - built on sin This is the house - nobody lives This is the house - you get what you give Yeah yeah Now you're lying on the floor Yeah, you ca'nt take anymore The Devil's laughing in your face Give me another taste, yeah

Surge = Increase. But McBush didn't increase anything. McBush robbed Peter to Pay Paul by shifting / diverting troops from the War on Terror in Afghanistan to Iraq. Results? Violence is down in Iraq. Meanwhile violence in Afghanistan is up: 9 Dead, 15 Wounded and an abandoned military outpost "near the Pakistani border" (our ally). So, now McBush declares Victory (again) in Iraq and "Surges" BACK to Afghanistan...
