Visit *******WordPressTutorials.TV for more WordPress Tutorials and cPanel Tutorials. Intellectual Property Management (IPM) is an accepted discipline for innovation and brand-driven companies. While primary responsibility often vests with the Legal Department, today's IPM imperative is cross-functional, with R&D, product management and finance all interested in IPM. This expanded stakeholder contingent and increasingly complex processes are driving companies to evaluate their IPM operations, including supporting information technologies. The IPM software market has undergone significant change during the last 12 - 24 months. Established vendors have introduced significant upgrades and new products to market, and a number of new entrants have introduced innovative products based on the latest web-based and SaaS- (Software as a Service) oriented models. Our market research indicates that the 2010 - 2014 period will be an active period of new IPM system implementation, on par with the late-1990's when companies were both migrating to client/server-based applications and addressing Y2K issues. The IPM market is well populated with a broad mix of vendors and products. Our initial assessment identified over 30 solutions with some relevance to intellectual property. These included a number of solutions in related or accessory areas, such as patent or trademark content, and search and analysis. Vendors not included in this report may be covered in other Hyperion Research segments. Ultimately, we focused our analysis on twenty-two (22) products considered to meet our project definition and provide a minimum of our Key Solution Component functionality. [complete eligibility details and thresholds are fully detailed in the report]. Of the twenty-two products, thirteen (13) were considered to meet a limited set of KSC criteria and have been identified as Market Participants. Market Participant products met our project definition and are considered to provide basic capabilities in our Key Solution Components. These vendors may be considered viable solutions for special or niche applications. [Complete vendor and product inclusion details are are provided in the full report.] Of the twenty-two products, nine (9) products were considered Advanced IPM Solutions and were found to provide all or substantially all of our Key Solution Components. The Advanced IPM Solutions are each considered highly credible solutions for integrated IP Management. We encourage clients to consider their specific needs and requirements when planning their vendor evaluation process.
