This is such a good series with tons of mystery and intrigue. Where we stood after the first issue was with the avengers out in the savage land with a cast and crew of other heroes climbing out of a skrull space ship, an orchestrated attack by skrull imposters on the earth’s technology centers including the Baxter building, shield, sword, and Stark Enterprises. And the Skrull armada standing at earth’s door. In this issue the tension breaks in the savage land and the heroes begin fighting until a T-rex comes along and answers a few questions. The Spidey who came on the ship gets crushed and it is revealed that he is a skrull. The same goes for Hawkeye. but it appears that not everyone is a skrull as Mockingbird reveals some info that only the human mockingbird would no. Just when we thought we were going to narrow down the captain America thing she goes and vouches for this one. The real mess is in new york though as a squad of super powered skrulls land and start reeking havoc in the city. We’ve got the classic fantastic four skrull, a wolverine / Cyclops skrull even an arch angel and a grip more I can’t wait for the battle next month. This event is great and only getting better.
I can not believe the intricacy of this story. Every issue that comes from the secret invasion reveals more of marvel history and continuity that is wrapped up in this arch. I just happened to go back this weekend and reread the beginning of the new avengers series that involved the savage land stuff that came into play this issue and that it was the skrulls that were mining the vibranium. I was like “of course it was them”. It’s great that Ka Zar and the savage land crew have even been playing a part in this it. Marvel really is including all of its’ universe. They leave us with a great cliff hanger as Captain America busts through the trees ready to take out the savage landers. Now, if Cap is a Skrull, of course he wants to take out Ka Zar, but he’s also been vouched for. Who knows.

Alright this is the best one so far. From the Ultimate X-men book we know that Charles Xavior and Magneto had a thing in the Savage Land and Magneto drove a spear through his spine when he tried to leave but this is the first showing of how they got there. It is continuing to draw connections between the mutant world as we find out that it was Magneto’s parents that were experimenting on Wolverine. One thing that I don’t understand though so help me out if you can is that the last book gave me the impression that the scientists created the first mutant in wolverine. How then is their son a mutant and why did his dad freak out. That doesn’t really make sense to me but Bendis doesn’t always like to fully explain things until he has too. The little red seeing eye thing is flat out creepy and I’m not sure I even want to know what it is. Is it popping up out of the ground or falling from the sky or just materializing? I don’t know but it’s going to be crazy. I’m glad that the story is beginning to move forward a bit more and we’ll just have to wait and see what those creepy things are.

Now this story is picking back up again. Mr. Fantastic gets going and shows us why he’s such a bad ass. It’s not often that we see him lash out physically and we forget how powerfully he is in that respect because he more often than not fights with his mind. Nick Fury’s troops still didn’t do much bet they are gearing up fro the big counter attack and the suspense is killing me. Maria Hill has finally struck back and taken a few Skrulls down before going off to join the resistance, but the real excitement is in the savage land when Reed Richards lands with his new toy that reveals the Skrulls for what they are. With that in earth’s arsenal there’s no holding back. The mistrust and doubt will be gone and the heroes will be free in knowing exactly who the enemy is. We get to see a bit of just how bad this attack is and the pain it causes as three of the heroes on the Savage Land are forced to face off against Skrull versions of their wives. This attack and the mistrust strike everywhere and can cut very deep. Three more issues to go and I can’t wait. Distributed by Tubemogul.

This is a letter to Bethesda in which I beg you
To stick together a new Elder Scrolls and you flipping better
Otherwise I'm gonna pester you forever
Well, except when I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas this November
But please, we need another Elder Scrolls
If I don't get a hold of one I'll go out of control
Sure, Fallout was a whole different level and it was incredible
But it didn't have the visual elegance and mystic mythic elements
That lifted it through excellence and into sheer perfectionism
Transcendence isn't something I'd expect sitting next to computers
But what you presented to us is beautious
Playing Oblivion made me oblivious
To my surroundings, how can a game be this intricate
That after a thousand hours of play
I'm still enthralled with it all, now to this day?
I've found an escape from the Imperial Prison of every day living
So take me to Oblivion again, take me to Oblivion again
Take me to Oblivion
Thanks Dan, I couldn't have put it better
Get it together, Bethesda, or we'll keep penning you letters
Being a vault dweller was special, but Wet was forgettable
So I'll never settle for anything less than an Elder Scrolls
Consumed by Blood Moon and swallowed by Morrowind
When I slip into Oblivion, I'm instantly lost in it
Escape the modern concrete office monotony
When I pop that DVD-ROM into the slot and unlock my dreams
Grab my magic hat, my daggers and the Wabbajack
Pack them in a saddle bag, and travel through these savage lands
It's mad depressing how obsessed I was getting
With checking out every chest to collect every set of weapons
I stand on the planet's edge and gaze at the hazy seas
It's crazy how ones and zeros behave so amazingly
Take me from these rainy streets, please
Take me to Oblivion again, please take me to Oblivion
