Learn to Manage Your Childs Allergies During Spring Allergy Season Millions of children suffer from seasonal allergies, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC, and for most allergy sufferers, spring is the worst season, especially for kids who want to play outside the moment the weather gets warm. If parents notice their children exhibiting common allergy symptoms, such as sneezing, itchy throat and watery, red eyes, there are ways to lessen the impact of spring allergens without taking away their outdoor play time. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America offers these tips: Limit outdoor school and extracurricular activities, e.g., recess, little league in the morning when pollen counts are the highest Avoid playing on recently mowed lawns or going outside after a heavy rain or in the evening when mold spore counts are high Keep windows closed and if possible, use air conditioning during the warm weather to keep airborne allergens out of your home Talk to your physician about medications that are safe for children and wont cause cognitive impairment For more information, please visit www.allergy****
