Classic Game Room reviews VANQUISH from Platinumgames and Sega, a futuristic robot-mecha-sci-fi-action-shooter with a cool style and ultra-slick gameplay. Vanquish is available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3, this CGR review of Vanquish from Sega has Xbox 360 game play showing Vanquish third person shooter gameplay in HD. Vanquish is directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil. The story takes place on a massive space station where nations are warring over the planet's remaining energy resources. You play as Sam Gideon who wears a Master Chief-esque super suit that enables him to move quickly, slow down time and mix up gameplay so that Vanquish is more interesting and clever than the average duck and cover style third person shooter.
Superstar designer Shinji Mikami's latest opus is fast, furious, primed and ready to blow the competition away.
Dino Crisis review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Dino Crisis from Capcom for Playstation 1. Some would say that Dino Crisis is just Resident Evil with dinosaurs, to which one can argue, how is that a bad thing? You play as Regina, a soldier sent to a secluded island which turns out to have plenty of dinosaurs running around. Like most survival horror titles of the time, you are out-numbered and out-matched and must run away as much as fight. The game introduced some new tricks like moving camera shots and more difficult puzzles, and having enemies that are much stronger and smarter than zombies. It makes for a survival horror game that keeps you on your toes the entire way through. This video review features video gameplay footage of Dino Crisis for Playstation 1 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Shadows of the Damned from Grasshopper Manufacture and Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3. Shadows of the Damned is also available for the Xbox 360. Shadows of the Damned is an over the shoulder third person shooter, another in a string of games that are all the rage and fittingly date back to Resident Evil 4. This is a familiar game for anyone who has played a Shinji Mikami title before. With little more than a gun and a motive, you're thrown into a horrific world where demons hide in the shadows...and unfortunately, there isn't much light. Shadows of the Damned starts with a decidedly Resident Evil foundation, but the game's bold style is characteristically Suda 51, as is the off kilter humor. For example, Garcia Hotspur's only weapon...is his Johnson. This video review features video gameplay footage of Shadows of the Damned for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
