Terabit today announces Monster Joyride 1.1 free for iOS, an update to their side scrolling platformer, where the player controls a red, hot rod convertible with a zombie in the driver's seat. Featuring slick, 3D, vector graphics, the player taps the screen to make the speeding hot rod jump. Platforms are short stretches of roadway at ground level or floating in mid air. At the start of every new platform is a small floating brain, a zombie delicacy, and jumping through it scores extra points.

Classic Game Room reviews THE ASSKICKERS for PC from Ago-Games****. This old school inspired side scrolling beat-em-up has gameplay reminiscent of Streets of Rage, Double Dragon and River City Ransom (among others like Final Fight and Gekido). Beat up enemies by punching them and kicking them with one of three different good guys. Team up with a friend, play four different difficulty settings and even plow through a survival mode. The Asskickers may not replace your Streets of Rage 2 game cartridge but it may kick some ass on your laptop. This CGR video review has gameplay from The Asskickers on PC showing Asskicker game play 2D sidescrolling action.

Classic Game Room reviews DUNGEON FIGHTER ONLINE for PC, the hit "global" MMORPG meets Golden Axe side scrolling beat 'em up adventure! At the time of this review, this version of Dungeon Fighter Online is only available in the US, Canada and certain moons orbiting Saturn. It can be played in Japan and Korea as well as other countries in the East. Choose your character class, buy armor and weapons and slaughter enemies while you play through a thin but entertaining fantasy plot. Classic Game Room reviews GAIARES for Sega Genesis from 1990, a side scrolling SHMUP published by Renovation Products. This classic Sega Mega Drive shooter is one of the most challenging on the 16-bit console and packs some of the best gameplay, music and visuals ever seen on Sega Genesis. Gaiares is one of the hardest side scrolling shooters (aka SHMUPS) on the Sega Genesis and is a worth addition to the collection of SHMUP fans. Amazing visuals and awesome music make repeat gameplay a blast which is good because you'll need to memorize every inch of space in this game to clear even the first three levels (out of eight total). This CGR review of Gaiaires on Sega Genesis has gameplay from Gaiares showing video game play in HD action from a modified S-video Sega Genesis model 1.

Classic Game Room reviews CYBORG HUNTER for Sega Master System, published by Activision in 1988. This CGR review of Cyborg Hunter for Sega Master System has gameplay from Cyborg Hunter showing video game play in action. The year is 2242 and you are the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy! This 2D side scrolling adventure game has you playing as Paladin as you fight cyborgs in Cyborg Fortress! Armed with a Psycho Gun and Jet Pack (among other devices) you combat enemies and end bosses. Cyborg Hunter is fairly sub-par in most respects but has a certain, cheesy charm that is unique to the game. Fans of cheesy sci-fi adventure games may want to give this one a play.

Classic Game Room reviews SHORTS for Nintendo DS, the Shorts movie was directed by Robert Rodriguez who also directed El Mariachi, Desperado, Spy Kids and Sin City. Shorts is a very average side scrolling platformer for the DS where you play primarily with the D-Pad and Nintendo DS buttons. This CGR review of Shorts the video game has gameplay from Shorts filmed in HD showing the video game play in action. Defeat enemies by shooting them, jumping on them and a variety of other methods. Play as characters from the movie and draw lines on the screen at times to climb on. Watch out for moving platforms, etc... Shorts is aimed at a younger audience and should appeal to kids who are into the film, parents should feel warm and fuzzy about the non-objectionable gameplay. Shorts is rated E 10 and packs some fairly good side scrolling 2D action (the backgrounds are 3D rendered but the game is basically a 2-D side scroller for the DS.)

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of BLASTER MASTER for the Nintendo Entertainment System from the late 1980's! Developed by Sunsoft this side scrolling/top scrolling adventure science fiction game was years ahead of its time. CGRHD believes it to be one of the best, if not the best game on the 8-bit NES. Flght your way through several levels filled with mutants and monsters in your Sophia tank/truck thing that flies, swims and does all kinds of neat things. Will they ever remake this game for the PS3 or Xbox 360 or Wii? It's amazing!! Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. Wii, PS3, Xbox 360.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. GEKIOH SHOOTING KING for the Playstation 1 PS1 video game console. Gekioh Shooting King is a SHMUP side scrolling shooting game for the original Playstation. This vertical shooter is pretty standard for the most part like Raiden, M.U.S.H.A., MUSHA, Ikaruga or 1942. This vertically scrolling maniac shooter from Japan has a lot of humor and entertainment/replay value with a comical mode and more. Shoot em up! You are the lone starship against countless enemies! But beware, this game has some unique elements to make it stand out from the crowd. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD.
