Soda blasting is another effective technique for mold removal. Now the soda I'm talking about is not the kind you find in a plastic bottle or aluminum can. If you shake one of those containers up and point it at the mold, the only thing you'll accomplish is to create an even bigger mess! No, we're talking about baking soda, which has a great variety of uses, as I'm sure you are aware. The soft nature of baking soda allows of quick removal of the mold, while providing minimum impact on the wood surfaces. The soda blasting, like dry ice treatments, only removes the mold growth and mold spores from the surfaces. Now you have to consider the fact that while dry ice blasting leaves less residue, the process is the same. You'll have to do more work vacuuming, but there are some advantages to using baking soda, including the fact that it is safer for the blast operator, and the fact that baking soda has those great odor absorption qualities. Soda blasting also reduces cycle time by cleaning, de-greasing and de-painting all in one step. Unlike glass beads or plastic media baking soda does not require a chemical pre-wash and its water solubility allows for complete rinsing, eliminating the risk of spent media lodging in tight spaces or critical passageways. For more information on this and other topics related to mold removal, we encourage you to visit our website at *******www.bustmold****, and be sure to give us a like on facebook as well.

Germs Hiding On Your Soda Can Lid Pop the top on your favorite soda and you expect to swallow sodium, sweeteners and caffeine. But, some other stuff, you'll never find on the label, could be lurking on the lid.So KEYE TV decided to find out exactly what your lips are touching with each sip. From Bastrop to Leander and Georgetown to San Marcos we collected 15 cans from inside convenience stores, gas stations, grocers and pharmacies. We saved our last quarters for the vending machine right next to the KEYE TV newsroom. We took our can collection to Austin Community College Biology Professor Felix Villarreal to find out what's living on the lids. Some of his swabs quickly revealed the grime that could be going in your mouth. But, even the cans that look clean could be covered in bacteria. "They could be completely contaminated and you wouldn't be able to see anything," said Professor Villarreal. Our samples quickly grew into these yellow, white and fuzzy dots. Each is a different type of bacteria or fungus.
