According to Muhammad, the Bible is a scripture from God. He knew that the Jews were the keepers of the Hebrew scriptures, the Old Testament. He knew that the followers of Jesus, Christians, were the keepers of the Greek scriptures, New Testament. He knew that the Christians honored and claimed the Hebrew scriptures also. He never spoke anything against either scripture. *******howtoknowgod.wordpress**** Central banks move to calm markets Asia stocks halt free fall after banks' concerted effort to stimulate global economy Britain announces bank rescue plan Iceland financial problems persist Arab markets continue to dive Iran economic immunity Reacting to the financial crisis Obama 'widens lead' after debate McCain slipping further behind rival opinion polls indicate US admits Afghan civilian deaths More civilians died in US attack on village than previously reported, report finds Russia completes Georgia pullout Bush signs India nuclear deal Deadly attack on Iraqi courthouse Ukraine parliament dissolved Pakistan's spy chief addresses MPs Africa Mauritanian police break up protest Somali mortar attack claims lives UN urges action on Somalia piracy Guantanamo release angers Bush Asia Pacific Malaysia PM to step down Troops patrol Bangkok after clashes Maldives votes in presidential poll Europeans perish in Nepal air crash Europe Central banks fail to stem sell-off UN seeks court opinion on Kosovo Middle East Deaths in Egypt building collapse Arab markets continue to dive A woman wrapped in an ANC blanket South Africa split Why ANC rebels are turning their backs on the ruling party Pakistani people walk along the main road that leads to the troubled area of the Swat valley in northern Pakistan Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Swat diary Torched schools and power cuts in Taleban country Capt Leon Boyea of North Slope Police Department Bootleg bounty? *******www.instablogs****/ US to check Somali pirate menace in Gulf of Aden The US government should work in close collaboration with other countries in the gulf to tackle piracy by Somali pirates in the region. We should not only take note but also applaud the sinking of a suspected Somali pirate vessel in the Gulf of Aden by an Indian navy warship. INS Tabar sank the pirate ‘mother ship’ after it did not stop for investigation and instead opened fire. US with its best naval capacity can deploy its naval vessels and military aircrafts to effectively fight piracy off the coast of Somalia. International community must pick the challenge of restoring normalcy in Somalia since whatever happens there certainly has an effect on what’s happening out in the Gulf of Aden. The region is an important transit route for both commercial and military supplies for the US fighting two most important wars in the region Iraq and Afghanistan. Destruction of Somali pirates becomes essential to ensure safe passage of vital shipments. Nepali Supreme Court approves gay marriage California voters may have rejected same sex marriage Nepali Supreme Court however has agreed to the same. The court by its ruling has upheld the basic human rights including the right to same sex marriage. In doing so the Apex Court has defeated the Maoist idea of having a Nepal that despises gay rights as bourgeois idea fit to be scorned at. And, why just California, Nepal has vanquished India, the world’s largest democracy which is seeking to criminalize homosexual sex and where lawyers are fighting an uphill battle to remove the proposed ban on gay marriage. For sure the world is turning upside down. Gays from South Asia once used to seek asylum in the United States it would be interesting to see the tide turning. Soon Californians would be heading to Nepal to get married in the shadow of the Himalayas. Mexican teachers become victims of drug extortion racket Elementary school teachers are the latest victims of an exploding extortion racket in the border city of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, as criminal gangs threaten educators to either hand over their coming Christmas bonuses or see harm done to their families or students. On Tuesday, full-page ads were taken out in local papers by a wide coalition of business, religious, political and social groups asking President Felipe Calderon for more help. The federal government has already sent thousands of federal police and soldiers, but crime has only gotten worse. What is certain is that as bonus day approaches, teachers, parents and students alike are getting nervous, It's going to be a crisis when they come to collect their extortion money. Tollywood expresses solidarity with Sri Lankan Tamils “When every Tamil heart is wounded over the sufferings of our brethren in Sri Lanka, it is inappropriate to celebrate my birthday”. This is the latest comment from Rajnikanth aimed at expressing his solidarity with the Tamil community facing the wrath of Sri Lankan army. The announcement is nothing but star tactics meant to shore up his image amongst his fans. Actually the star is trying to salvage his marketability since “Kuselan” starring Rajnikant sold at a cost of Rs.650 millio, bombed at the box office triggering a crisis in the Tamil film industry. It seems that Rajnikanth is all geared up to take a plunge in politics just like veteran M.Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha. The so called stars of Tamil film industry may take the leverage of accusing Sri Lanka of committing genocide and crimes against humanity. However nothing can stop us from protecting our territorial sovereignty and integrity. *******www.instablogs****/

OFF THE SOMALI COAST (Feb. 6, 2009) The Military Sealift Command fleet ocean tug, USNS Catawba (T-ATF 168), provides fuel and fresh water to Motor Vessel Faina following its release by Somali pirates Feb. 5, after holding it for more than four months. The U.S. Navy has remained within visual range of the ship and maintained a 24-hour, 7-days a week presence since it was captured. The Belize-flagged cargo ship is owned and operated by Kaalbye Shipping Ukraine and is carrying a cargo of Ukrainian T-72 tanks and related equipment. The ship was attacked on Sept. 25 and forced to anchor off the Somali Coast. U.S. 5th Fleet conducts maritime security operations to promote stability and regional economic prosperity. Somali pirates attack another U.S. cargo ship – the second attack on Americans in a week. Hello I’m Charlotte Bellis and you’re watching Newsy****. *******www.newsy**** “…100 miles off the coast of Somalia a bunch of pirates shooting RPGs as well as automatic weapons and the crew again acted bravely and courageously they locked themselves in a room, some were in the cabin, and performed evasive tactics. They never got on board, luckily, and who shows up but the U.S. Navy…” (FOX News) The UK’s Times Online interviewed one Somali pirate who explains the reason for the second attack: “The aim of this attack was totally different. We were not after a ransom. We also assigned a team with special equipment to chase and destroy any ship flying the American flag in retaliation for the brutal killing of our friends." (Times Online) CNN says the U.S. is hesitant to get involved in combat with the pirates, and for good reason: “…everybody remembers Black Hawk Down during the Clinton years when we lost two helicopters, 18 Americans were killed, and everybody knows the area. And they’re just very reluctant to start going down that path again particularly when we’re already fighting two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.” (CNN) France 24 says the pirates are constantly adapting their tactics… “Last night, for example, they attacked a boat just before dawn. This is the first time they attack at night. It seems that while there is a huge international deployment in the area the pirates are improving their methods and techniques to attack the boats at night." (France 24) The Punch, a Nigerian newspaper disagrees, saying the pirates have already lost status and power: “…after their first encounter with an American vessel, it was not going to be business as usual any more.” (The Punch) Newsy**** will continue to follow developments off the coast of Somalia.
