Classic Game Room reviews the ATARI 5200 video game system from 1982, the successor to the Atari 2600. This is the 4 controller model which is the size of a container ship and uses the most absurd power/tv switcher hookup ever created. There are many things to loathe about this unique game console and one thing to love, its an ATARI!!! It plays hundreds of Atari 5200 game cartridges, many of which are slightly upgraded versions of popular Atari 2600 games like Missile Command, Vanguard and Space Invaders. Others are awesome games which look like early NES action games like Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom and The Dreadnaught Factor. There are some Atari 5200 exclusives as well. Collecting for the 5200 is not terribly expensive, even though the Atari 5200 is considered a commercial failure there are still many out there and they are such an amazing pain to own that people want to get rid of them. Collectors benefit from this as 5200 games and consoles on eBay are easy to find, but working controllers are not. The Achilles heel of the Atari 5200 is the terrible, analog, non-self-centering controller which is difficult to replace because of the keypad. You can buy refurbished Atari 5200 controllers or the expensive Wico aftermarket Atari 5200 controller if you are really ambitious. The fact is the Atari 5200 has some great games, is a joy to collect for and is so large that it demands respect. It looks like a Laserdisc player combined with a dishwasher and is hard to miss when taking up your entire living room.

Classic Game Room HD reviews MEGAMANIA for Atari 2600 from 1982 by Activision. This pseudo-Space Invaders style game has many things that make it unique and stand out from the standard "invading lines of enemies" kind of games. Defeat waves of hamburgers, cookies, bow ties, bugs, tires, diamonds, steam irons and space dice. Score points, survive wave after wave of changing attack patterns and have a great time with Megamania! This CGRHD review of Megamania has gameplay from this old school retro arcade style video game cartridge on Atari VCS. Megamania has guided missiles or non-guided and packs hours of fun. Highly recommended for fans of alien wave shooters looking for something different and exciting!

Classic Game Room reviews GALAXIAN for Atari 5200! Namco's 1979 arcade masterpiece comes alive in this 1982 release for the Atari 5200. This Galaxian review has gameplay footage recorded from Galaxian on Atari 5200. Galaxian is an arcade video game coin-op classic and the prequel to Galaga. This Atari 5200 cartridge is affordable to collect today and can be found quite easily on places like eBay. Galaxian is a Space Invaders style game where you shoot aliens swooping down on you from above. Blast them out of the air for more points and save your shots to pick off the red and yellow ones. Galaxian is fast paced and challenging due to the wild attack patterns that are difficult to predict. Galaxian is also available on Atari 2600 and comes on numerous Namco compilation game releases for Playstation and other game consoles. Classic Game Room reviews Atari 5200 video games as an Atari 5200 reviewer reviewing Atari 5200 games like Galaxian.

Classic Game Room HD reviews GORF for the Colecovision video game console. Gorf was released to the arcades in 1981 by Midway and this amazing port of the game found its way to the Colecovision in 1983. It is a unique arcade game, and certainly a unique old school retro home video game, because it plays like 4 games in one (the arcade was 5 in 1). And it all gels together very well, combining elements of Space Invaders, Galaxian, Galaga, Star Wars, Star Ship and modern SHMUPS. It's a top down arcade style 2D shooter, a 3D space warp experience and an end boss battle to the death, GORF has it all! GORF is also an acronym for Galactic Orbiting Robotic Force. In case you want to pull that shit out for a dinner party or something you can be like "What's up bitches, I see your knowledge of fine wine and raise you the meaning of GORF". Classic Game Room brings you reviews of classic games like GORF as well as the newest releases for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. This retro gamer review of Gorf is made from the actual Colecovision game cartridge and not emulation. If you like old school gaming and arcade hits as well as the newest shooters, driving games and strategy video games then Classic Game Room is the show for you. Now reviewing games for Colecovision.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of ALIEN INVADERS PLUS! for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game console. Also known as the Philips Videopac G7000, this classic retro arcade style old school game system has some real gems. Is Alien Invaders Plus one of them? At first glance this game looks a lot like Space Invaders, the 1980's arcade classic, and made even more popular on the Atari 2600. It's got a lot in common with Space Invaders and Demon Attack, but is also very different. Sure you shoot aliens with laser beams and stuff like that, but the scoring is different, the gameplay and footage are different, the graphics are a bit sharper but other things aren't as good... basically it's different. A worthy old school classic video game though and one to add to your Magnavox Odyssey 2 collection if you have one. This game is not available on any other game consoles, like Colecovision, Atari 7800, Wii, Xbox 360 XBLA or Playstation 3 PS3. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The reviews on the HD series are reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of SPACE CAVERN for the Atari 2600 VCS Video Game Console. Space Cavern is a fun arcade style classic retro old school video game that combines elements of Space Invaders with Moon Patrol and comes out as a winning cartridge for Atari collectors. If you like shmup video games, shooters or any kind of games that involve space travel, aliens, guns, bad guys and monsters you'll dig it. This game is from 1982 by Apollo for the Atari 2600 video game system. What we need to see is Space Cavern remade for the PS3 Playstation 3 for the Sony Network, or for Xbox Live Arcade on the 360 for download XBLA. Space Cavern is a solid game and a must have for collectors.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of MOON PATROL for the Atari 2600 VCS video game console system. Moon Patrol is a classic arcade hit from the 1980's and a fantastic retro video game. This game is very unique and combines SHMUP elements with a horizontal side scroller, science fiction action adventure game and a vertical shooter like Space Invaders. Drive your moon buggy across the lunar surface and dodge craters, boulders, enemy space ships and tanks. Moon Patrol is awesome in every way, catch MOONPATROLFEVER baby! Why is this game not being remade into a new game with great gameplay on the Xbox 360 Live Arcade XBLA, Playstation 3 PS3 or Wii?

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GALAXIAN for the Sony Playstation 1 video game console system. Not to be confused with Galaga, this is a different game. Similar in style to Space Invaders or Demon Attack, Galaxian is a fun arcade retro old school classic from 1979 that is fun to pick up and play. Shoot the aliens before they shoot you, it's that simple. This review comes from the Namco museum volume 3 for the PS1. Other games on the disc include Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Pole Position 2 and Phozon. This video marks the first useage of the verb "chewlaxian" which is the art of watching the Empire Strikes Back while playing Galaxian. This should make it on to Xbox Live.

Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GALAGA on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game console. XBLA has brought out numerous old school retrol arcade classics like Frogger, Pac Man, Xevious and Galaga. These games play in HD through an HDMI cable if you have one, they cost a few bucks each and are usually playable on Xbox Live where you can earn achievements and gamer points (gamerpoints). Galaga is a throwback to the days when Space Invaders influenced dozens of arcade machines, the alien invaders shoot at you and move back and forth, they fly down and attack you. Galaga is just awesome. you need to play this game if you like the 1980's and arcade machine classic games and gaming. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. "Just because the graphics are better doesn't mean the game is better" The Classic Game Room reviews Demons to Diamonds for the Atari 2600. This classic game mixes Space Invaders with Breakout in a unique paddle controller winner. It's a shooting game, sort of. You shoot demons as they move across the screen. Then they turn into diamonds which you can collect and sell at a rediculous markup. These are raw, uncut stones too. What nice demons to leave diamonds for you. This is a classic, vintage, retro, arcade, coin-op, 80's, collectable cartridge the whole family can enjoy. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room is a new member of the Classic Game Room family. A more relaxed, subdued show reviewing classic video games from the past 30 years. Is Halo 3 the next Pac Man franchise? This is probably one of the most famous, most popular games of all time. Classic Game Room looks at the game compared to other first person shooters and the classic titles like Pac Man and Space Invaders. You are Master Chief and fighting aliens, mutants, bad guys, tax adjusters.... pretty much everything. If it has a gun and shoots at you blow it up. Halo 3 is on the Xbox 360 console and can be played multiplayer & co-op on Xbox Live. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes.
