Keep in mind I use the word Switchbacks with Mt. Borah lightly here because there isn't much of a trail it is more like straight up the mountain. Coming down is probably worse than going up, unless you enjoy your toes smashed into your shoes and your knees getting punished. Mount Borah truly is a beast!

Don't get blown off the mountain this fall. The North Face Women's Venus Jacket neutralizes breezy conditions with a windproof (absolute 0 CFM) Apex Weatherblock shell fabric that's treated with a DWR finish to repel light rain. The Venus Jacket also has a Recco avalanche rescue reflector that makes this midweight jacket ideal for skiing and snowboarding (layer it with a waterproof shell if you like, but unlike some jackets from The North Face, this one is not Zip-In compatible). Inside the zippered pockets you'll find a mesh lining that doubles as venting--just in case you need to let a little breeze in so you stay cool while winding up the switchbacks. If you're looking for a similar fabric with a little stretch for bending your knees through the fall line, check out the Women's S.T.H Pants from The North Face. Rugged, waterproof and breathable dual-ply HyVent durafaille fabric Breathable slick mesh lining throughout the main torso area Soft embossed taffeta fabric lining throughout the sleeve area Warm, removable Triclimate liner jacket insert made with 100-gm. Heatseeker insulation Fully seam-sealed construction for optimal weatherproof performance Core vents with mesh gussets for cooling when you need it Zippered internal security pocket Napoleon chest pocket and soft-lined goggle pouch Left wrist accessory pocket Pant-a-locks system attaches Banshee shell to ski or snowboarding pants Cinchcord on shell powder skirt Zippered hand pocket and internal pocket in Triclimate jacket insert Cinchcord hem on Triclimate jacket insert to minimize drafts TNF logos on upper left chest of shell and Triclimate jacket Weight: 37 oz. Perfect for transitioning between chilly mornings and warm afternoons, this revised Long Sleeve Translution Tek Tee from The North Face features a new VaporWick Capellix pique fabric for warmth and airy mesh side panels for enhanced ventilation. It's a great choice for spring runs, cool hikes and mountain bike rides. Newly redesigned with a thirsty VaporWick Capellix pique fabric, The North Face Long Sleeve Translution Tek Tee is a great inner or outer layer for mountain bike rides on frosty mornings, but it won't leave you sweltering on the sun-drenched switchbacks. Beneath the set-in sleeves are narrow mesh side panels to accentuate vapor flow away from your skin to help keep you dry. The overall fit on the Long Sleeve Translution Tek Tee is relaxed so you can throw it over your tapered running tank top and forget the hassles of bunched-up, confining fabric. In back you'll find a practical stash pocket for your energy bars, cellular phone and other important gear. New, fast drying, moisture wicking 100% polyester VaporWick Capellix pique fabric Clean, set-in sleeve construction with mesh side panels for added ventilation Rear stash pocket for extra gear Relaxed fit construction accommodates extra layers underneath TNF logo on left front chest, Flight Series logo on left sleeve

Offering top of the line off-road performance, the Nike Shox Junga trail running shoe delivers comfort and support over severe terrain. A durable carbon rubber outsole provides the first element of superior performance. Molded to Nike's Waffle Blade traction configuration, it grips the mountainside whether ripping down a set of muddy switchbacks or sailing across gravel-strewn flats. The midsole shock absorbing ability of the Nike Shox Junga men's trail running shoe is nothing short of first class. When your heel strikes the ground, the Nike Shox heel columns absorb the impact and then provide return energy to propel the foot forward. Likewise, the low-profile Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot absorbs impact and then provides return energy at toe-off. The upper rounds out the complete package of superior performance components found on the Nike Shox Junga trail running shoe. A breathable mesh keeps the air circulating as the miles and temperature climb, drainable for those occasional splashdowns in wide streams. The Frame-fit upper offers great support and fit too, snugly locking your foot into place for precise placement when running a gauntlet of boulders or climbing a staircase of roots. The Nike Shox Junga is geared for runners with a neutral gait. Highly breathable and drainable mesh upper for superior comfort Frame-fit system offers protection, support, and a great fit Nike Shox midsole technology in heel for responsive cushioning over severe terrain Low-profile Zoom Air cushioning in forefoot also helps propel the foot forward at toe-off Durable carbon rubber outsole material Waffle Blade traction technology lugs grips both hard and soft surfaces. There are caves and then there are Caverns. Carlsbad is definitely a Caverns class attraction. There is so much to see and do here that sets New Mexico’s Carlsbad apart from other cave attractions that we couldn’t possibly list everything in one teaser video like this. Adventurer Clint Pollock delivers the been-there-done-that experience in this short video featuring Ranger Geologist Paul Burger as they explore and expose Carlsbad’s Big Room, the 8 acre sized, stalagmite filled room that is 750 feet below ground, the bat flight of thousands of bats every night and, the 1 ¼ mile main entrance switchback trail that follows the original explorers path as they discovered this underground wonder. Carlsbad is certainly for everyone with its updated elevator system that accommodates anyone wanting to see its secrets revealed. So, bring a flashlight, leave the baby stroller in the car and follow a self guided tour or hook up with one of the ranger guided tours to explore Carlsbad Caverns.
