The ride lasts for 90 seconds.
During the rides first two years, the Tea Cups had no brakes or clutches--nothing to limit how fast they could be spun.

Theme: Mad Tea Party
This film teaches the budding post-war typical American family housewife how to impress her friends and neighbors with the amount of “caring and consideration” she can display by setting a beautiful tea table with creative tea party ideas. A bombastic male narrator describes and explains while the footage shows an older woman instructing a younger one in the art of how to set a table for a tea part, choosing a tablecloth, arranging a floral centerpiece, acquiring tea party supplies, placing candles and dishes, and arranging tea sandwiches and napkins. A painstaking attention to detail really shines through in this film, which shows many classic pictures of a 1940’s formal dining arrangement and rules of etiquette. This cult of domesticity and social conformity is a hallmark of the 1940s.

WNYMedia contributor and tea Party organizer Rus Thompson (albanysinsanity) and WNYMedia's Alan Bedenko (buffalopundit) discuss the Buffalo Tea Party Protest on Saturday March 28th, 2009
The Hon. James D. Manning, PhD approves of America holding tea parties discussing and opposing the policies, leadership, and legitimacy of Barack Hussein Obama. This message comes from The Manning Report 31 March 2009.
*******TeaPartyNow**** -- The Boston Tea Party was far more about liberty, economics, and legislative representation than it was specifically anti-British or anti-tax. Thousands of the colonists cheered as 150 participated directly in the dumping of the tea at Griffin's Wharf that night. Their protest was not just about the lopsided tea tax but about the hypocrisy of the British government in its repressive and dictatorial colonial policies.

A liberal version of the popular Tea Party movement stages an epic fail in Washington, DC, on April 11, 2009. The group's website claimed more that 400 people would attend, but only about a dozen lonely souls showed up.
CNBC's Rick Santelli captures the frustration of many in this country when he called for the "Chicago Tea Party" in July against the new administration's mortgage plans, stimulus plans, and bailouts.
Santelli's call spurred many across this country to organize their own "Tea Party" to voice concerns about the way the economic crisis is being handled. The FINZ.tv street team took our cameras to the "NYC Tea Party" at City Hall Park, New York, for interviews and to get a sense of the mood away from the trading desk. (NYC Tea Party on February 28, 2009)
Interview with organizers of NYC Tea Party:
Kellen Guida (parcbench on twitter)
FINZ.tv: How did this get started?
Kellen Guida: Saw Rick Santelli's rant on CNBC the other morning and were looking to see if there's anything happening and we just put this up on facebook and sent out some emails.
Kellen Guida: Pretty much just let it go. We need business models that are sustainable. If you look at with Ireland, with Spain, with Japan, the stimulus obviously doesn't work and drags you further in and prolongs the recovery, so lets get to the bottom faster.

Texas Governor, Rick Perry speaking to about 1,000 participants in the Austin Tea Party noon rally at Austin City Hall.
Unlike last month's tea party protest in Buffalo that had a clear focus (Anti-Albany), this one was nothing but pure anti-liberal conservative nonsense straight from glenn beck and Fox news. Signs and protesters covered everything from religion, Socialism, taxes and the sharing of bathrooms in Colorado...
An estimated 3,000 people turned out in Columbia, SC for a Tax Day Tea Party to protest massive government spending and waste on April 15, 2009.
Tampa Tea Party footage. by JR Griggs
This was my small towns version of the Tea Parties that are now sweeping the country. Everything went fine but for two problems arouse when one BLACK guy held up a sign saying we were bigots and also when some local nuts from Acorn... (get the Pun?) were going around telling people that the Tea Party had been canceled by the town council and not to bother showing up.
There's your Obama-ites for you!
