Michigan Mercury dealers can visit *******www.miautimes**** to comment When it comes to Ford’s forthrightness about the ingenuity and longevity of its Mercury Brand, much is left to be desired. Though Mercury’s numbers experienced a bump in February’s sales figures released by Ford, the survival of the brand seems ominous. Auto experts and car enthusiasts were citing multiple indications that Michigan Mercury Dealers may be saying goodbye to the mama bear—not too hot, not too cold—of Ford’s family of three. Since no one from Ford has outright admitted they’re letting Mercury wither away into oblivion, there are only hints, obvious as they may be, of Mercury’s eventual demise. Car models continue to be eliminated So long Sable, Villager and Mystique. The Grand Marque is making a not-so-grand exit, according to wardsauto****. And long ago we said bye-bye Cougar. The only recently released innovation can hardly be called a new product but more appropriately an addition to a pre-existing model. Tack one on for the Milan and Moutaineer hybrid versions. Take one look at Mercury’s website and it’s clear there are holes in Mercury’s product line with its fantastic four (Milan, Mariner, Mountaineer, Grand Marquis) looking more like easy targets or sitting ducks waiting to be picked off. Case in point, Michigan Mercury Dealers may be losing the Grand Marquis very soon. Completely new model promised, but yet to be seen in Michigan Mercury Dealers Even though the Mercury brand continues to dwindle in model options, Ford executives remain stalwart in their plans to launch a new small-car model by early 2011 or 2012. At the National Automobile Dealers Association convention held February 13-15, in Orlando, Florida, Ford President of the Americas Mark Fields announced to dealers Ford will be stopping its long trend of downsizing the Mercury brand and instead adding a small-size model to the ill-fated product line. Even so, Fields made it clear that Ford’s motivations behind the Lincoln-Mercury relationship have changed. In a quote obtained by wardsdealer****, Fields says, “It used to be that Mercury was the volume piece of Lincoln-Mercury. “We've decided Lincoln will be that now. Our focus is to winnow down the Mercury lineup, concentrating on the Mariner, Milan and a C-based product.” Whether or not Ford can come through on the promise to deliver a new small-car model that sells and actually save the brand remains to be seen. What’s on the line is the livelihood of Michigan Mercury Dealers. Ford may deny it but Mercury Michigan Dealers could soon see the writing on the wall. MI Auto Times will continue to follow the demise of Mercury and post up-to-the-minute updates as they become available.

Visit us at *******miautotimes****/ Buick Regal MI Auto Times Top 10 Pick 'Rising through the Ranks' A true reinvention and vehicle that's surprising critics, MI Auto Times is announcing the Buick Regal MI Auto Times Top Pick in the 'Rising through the Ranks' category. Buick Regal MI shoppers have a new reason to ensure they're on the right path to choosing a great vehicle. MI Auto Times has recently released its Top 10 Picks buying guide and the Buick Regal made the list under the category 'Rising through the Ranks.' Those looking to purchase Buick Regal MI vehicles will be happy to know it's received better reviews than the Lincoln MKZ and the Acura TSX. The Buick Regal is a significant step for General Motors away from older generations in a move to attract younger buyers. The vehicle is also a reflection of GM's inclination toward smaller engines and better fuel economy. Add all of that together in a luxurious package and Buick Regal MI buyers are getting one vehicle for much less than luxury class competitors. There are many things that contributed to the Buick Regal outpacing the competition and making the MI Auto Times Top Picks list. First and foremost are the Buick Regal's engines: a 2.4-liter EcoTec 4-cylinder direct-injection engine or the 220 horsepower 2.0-liter EcoTec Turbo engine. Long gone is the driving sensation of being at the helm of a boat; now the handling is exceptionally sporty and much more responsive. The MSRP starts at $26,245 allowing more people access to a vehicle with more luxury touches such as rear parking assist, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 12-way power driver's seat and heated, leather seating. But the Buick Regal was not the only car to make the list. The Toyota Prius was chosen as the top Green Car for its demonstrated fuel economy, reliability, low emissions and driver-controlled selection modes giving the driver full ability to gauge how their driving is directly affecting fuel efficiency. The Honda Civic takes the Small Sedan field, and it should come as no surprise because this model has long been associated with longevity and high resale value. The GMC Sierra leads the Pickup Truck top pick because of its towing and payload capacity. The GMC Sierra was also the MI Auto Times Best Truck winner. Buyers also get On-star with this vehicle for one year. The Dodge Grand Caravan takes the Minivan top pick because of its abundant safety equipment and enhanced seating flexibility. The Buick LaCrosse makes an unconventional though well-deserved appearance in the Family Sedan category because it packages luxury, safety and performance into a more affordable price for families looking for extras without great investment. The Chevrolet Equinox's sharp design and supreme carlike handling gave it the win in the Compact SUV category. Find out which cars won the remaining three categories, view the complete results, and rate any of the vehicles including in the list by visiting *******www.miautotimes**** MI Auto Times covers all Michigan automotive news, vehicle recall information, Michigan automaker news, vehicle ratings and comparisons, and everything else auto-related Michigan and world readers need to know.

Take a tour of Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, United States – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. The Lincoln Memorial, sitting at the end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. is a moving tribute to president Abraham Lincoln. The monument is built in a Greek temple style with a statue of Lincoln sitting pensively at the center. Lincoln's statue is flanked by carvings of his two greatest speeches, the Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address. The Memorial has watched over many notable events, including The March on Washington in 1963 and Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech. The Lincoln Memorial can be seen on U.S. currency, in movies, and in person for free 24/7. Lincoln is widely recognized as one of the greatest presidents in American history, which makes his memorial especially fitting.
