Release Date: July 20, 2012 (2D theaters and IMAX) Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures Director: Christopher Nolan Screenwriter: Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan Starring: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman Genre: Action, Thriller MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language) Official Websites: *******www.thedarkknightrises****/, *******www.facebook****/thedarkknightrises Plot summary: It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. Copyright © 2012 Warner Bros. Pictures

Nolan on the film: (Taken from Wikipedia) Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story. And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story... I'm very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we've done with the characters. My brother has come up with some pretty exciting stuff. Unlike the comics, these things don't go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we're telling. And it hearkens back to that priority of trying to find the reality in these fantastic stories. The Cast: (Taken from IMDB) Tom Hardy ... Bane Anne Hathaway ...
