As its a time where the roads are cold and slippery, I thought Id produce a little reminder for other drivers to 'think bike' and for those bikers who like to take the fast lane
In August 2005 I had a major motorbike crash Head on into a car..
My incident was so severe that I was in a coma for 2 weeks, nearly lost my leg, smashed my wrists and fingers, put my head through the windscreen at a stopping speed of around 60mph Blood clots on the brain and fracturing my back..
Has to be said, keeping my life and leg was a miracle, this was the first operation of its type to fully succeed, 14 hours of invasive surgery, 9 hours of micro-surgery, Muscle grafts from my abdomen, Pins and screws to hold my leg together, skin grafts off my ankle and thy, artery re-direction......... and 3 years to nearly fully recover..
Ive lost friends because of these sorts of accidents and I nearly joined them.. Dont make the same mistake!!! Keep your eye on the road at all times, ALWAYS wear your helmet and make sure its strapped on tight!!
Take care out on those roads..!
