Ever thought you'd be able to hold 128GB of storage inside your palm? Flash technology keeps moving at a rapid pace and Patriot Memory make good use of it.
Today we present you with another video review on TweakTown and we're looking at the Patriot Memory Xporter Magnum USB 2.0 128GB pen drive.
128GB on a pen drive - crazy and insane? Probably! Enough to store a couple hundred thousand songs in your pocket? Yep! We run this sexy black beast through the paces to see just how good it is. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com Earlier this week we visited the GIGABYTE headquarters here in Taipei and visited them to check out some USB 3.0 versus USB 2.0 performance numbers. GIGABYTE bought a Buffalo branded USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure and hooked it up to its new P55A-UD6 motherboard which comes complete with USB 3.0 support, powered by a new NEC controller. GIGABYTE installed a Kingston SSD inside the Buffalo enclosure and we ran some tests. First of all we show you standard Windows file copy performance and then we fire up HD Tach and run the numbers comparing the new SuperSpeed USB technology against the now aging USB 2.0. http://www.tweaktown.com ASUS CES 2010 Preview from Taipei. The Air HDP-R3 does a fairly good job at doing that by adding in 802.11n wireless directly to the device as well as putting in a handy card reader. ASUS also spent considerable time tweaking the user interface of the device with some new thumbnail views and direction tips and so on. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com Today we see how far an AMD Athlon II X4 630 processor can be pushed when cooled to minus 180 degrees celcius with LN2 extreme cooling. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com You just got done seeing the new ASUS Eee Slate and one of the other products announced by the Taiwanese company today was the Eee Pad Transformer. Yes, yet another tablet to hit the market, but this one you want.
As you can see in the video above, it comes with a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor for full 1080p video playback and ASUS claims it offers the fastest web browsing experience in this class as well as the best multi-tasking performance. Not only that, but ASUS also went on to say that it offers the fastest flash video performance. I am not sure exactly what that means and why it is important - but what is important is that you can watch 1080p YouTube content without dropping frames and / or bring the system to a halt. http://www.tweaktown.com MSI's P67A-GD65 is a mid-range motherboard that uses an LGA-1155 socket which means it supports Intel's upcoming Sandy Bridge processors. Straight up it's easy to see MSI design and attitude style in the design and it comes packed with loads of good features. The big one that MSI is pushing is "Military Class II". It has been upgraded from the first version in the P55 boards to provide even better power and stability. This is done through the use of a six phase power SFC choke setup that provides up to 30% better efficiency than standard chokes, 100% Hi-c CAP's and Japanese made solid capacitors with a claimed life-time of an impressive 10 years.
It also comes packed with "OC Genie II" which provides quick and easy one button touch overclocking to the CPU frequency. If you have an upcoming MSI H67 motherboard, instead of overclocking the CPU, the OC button will instead overclock the onboard IGP (graphics) instead. Sadly we are unable to report the increased CPU clock speed, but we saw the reported number on the box, and let's just say it's pretty damn impressive and a rather big increase over the default clock speed. You also get official NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFire support. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com COMPUTEX Taipei 2010 - One of stops today was with the friendly folks from A-DATA who gave us some of their time to tell us about their full range of USB 3.0 devices that have either just gone on the market or will go on sale shortly.
Roger spoke about one device in particular called the N004 Combo Flash drive that not only supports super speedy transfer over the USB 3.0 connector, but also extra compatibility by adding in a more standard SATA II connector.
The device should end up providing solid speeds of around 200MB/s on the read and 170MB/s on the write when hooked by over the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connector. And it comes in capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com Here is a promo video provided to us by ASUS showcasing its upcoming U Series Bamboo Collection Laptops that are due out in the middle of June. Hands-on coming soon, for now watch the ASUS provided video. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com ASUS just finished up with its press conference today in Taipei which launched a range of new notebooks from 13.3-inch all the way up to the monster 18.4-inch NX90JQ desktop replacement model that we will go hands-on with after this one.
The ASUS U33Jc was first shown during CES, but today we get to see the final shipping version that will go on sale in Taiwan and presumably around the world in the middle of next month. In Taiwan it has a street price that works out to be 1300 USD, it may end up being slightly cheaper in the US.
This 13.3-inch notebook weighs in at 1.8KG and comes with an impressive 8 cell battery that ASUS claims can provide up to 11 hours of on the go power, of course in the best case scenario. We checked Windows batter life and it was stating around 9 hours left with about 90% charge – not bad at all. What is interesting is that this model doesn’t include any optical drive, so it looks like it will be suited for the folks out there who download movies rather than watch them on DVD or Blu-ray. http://www.tweaktown.com COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010 – MSI just got done with hosting its pre-Computex press conference and launched and showcased a host of new products.
We just posted our hands-on look at the MSI WindPad 110 that is based around the Google Android operating system with ARM processing technology, but the difference with the WindPad 100 s that is build around already well known technology that netbooks use – the Intel Atom to be exact. It ships with Windows 7 Home Premium with a special MSI GUI. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com ASUS CES 2010 Preview from Taipei. Our third item of viewing during our visit to ASUS was their upcoming ATI Radeon HD 5850 Voltage Tweak video card. Using the ASUS Smart Doctor video card overclocking software, we saw just how far an ASUS Radeon HD 5850 Voltage Tweak can be overclocked by making adjustments to how much juice the GPU is getting. http://www.tweaktown.com This afternoon TAITRA shipped ourselves and many other international press over to the MSI headquarters for a look at some of its new and upcoming products in the mobile space. This was after the Computex 2010 pre-show press conference that was held earlier today and we’ll be covering that shortly.
While MSI was showcasing its full range of new notebooks, there were also some all-in-one systems on display. One that got our attention right away was an unreleased 3D capable all-in-one system called, err... it is still new and a model name hasn’t been decided on yet. Distributed by Tubemogul.
http://www.tweaktown.com CES 2010 – So, what the heck is WiDi? This new technology is designed for the newly released Core i3 and i5 laptop platforms along with Intel HD graphics and using wireless and a small box from Netgear and other network companies; you are able to wirelessly transmit your laptop image to a television connection with one of the WiDi boxes. http://www.tweaktown.com COMPUTEX Taipei 2010 - Again we are back with Ramsom from Thermaltake and this time he showed us another of their highlight products at this year’s show and it is the Armor A30.
Stated as being crafted for battle, the A30 is a rather unique sized case that should end up being very suitable for gamers on the move. Inside you can fit two standard desktop size hard drives as well as two 2.5-inch drives such as SSDs. What is even better is that for such a compact and good looking case, it even is even able to support full size video cards such as the ATI Radeon 5970.
The sample we saw was only a very early mock-up that was handmade to display during the show, but still Ramsom tells us development is going really well and it should hit the market in around three months for around 130 USD. Distributed by Tubemogul.
