Iron Man & Redbelt Are Predicted To Top The Box Office This Week... Your Box Office Update From Getthedaily**** - Your Online Source For News Hey movie goers! You’re watching GettheDaily****. I’m Dana Ward here with the 4-1-1 on the brand-spanking-new movies opening at the theatres this weekend. The much-awaited Iron Man will likely be taking over the box office. This is an action-adventure film filled with heros and villains alike. Robert Downey Jr stars as a rich inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a deadly weapon. This smart philanthropist decides to create an indestructible armor suit to escape and then fight evil to save the world. Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and other star powers help move along the action-packed comic-based flick. Another high-action flick hitting theatres this weekend is the martial arts drama, Redbelt. A pro jujitsu master finds himself struck by the glitz of Hollywood when he’s asked to contend in prizefighting for the cameras. Before long, he is manipulated into partaking in ultimate-fighting-championship-style bouts with actors. In between getting horrible beatdowns, the martial arts master finds a unique opportunity in the ring to regain his honor. The romantic comedy of the summer will leave you saying ‘I Do’. Made of Honor stars Patrick ‘McDreamy’ Dempsey realizing his best friend of years, played by Michelle Monaghan, is actually the girl-of-his-dreams… and of course it’s just as she tells him she’s engaged. The bride-to-be asks her BOY b-f-f to be her maid-of-honor and from the inside, he’s on a mission to win back his girl’s heart. Another movie all about love and connection between two hearts is Mister Lonely. A Michael Jackson impersonator falls for a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. These two celeb-wannabes live life and travel together, and the comedic drama even introduces a few more of our favorite Old School Hollywood characters. An interesting premise drives the comedy, Son of Rambow. The story follows a young Brit boy in the 80s who is raised in an isolated religious society. He starts on a conquest with a school bully to create their own action epic, after secretly watching his first movie, Rambo: First Blood. If you’re more in the mood for a serious film, check out the war-drama, Fugitive Pieces. It follows the life of a young boy into adulthood, starting with the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1942 and the killing of his parents. He’s smuggled to safety and he’s forced to deal with his past in order to move on to the future. This film is about love, loss and salvation. Plus, there will be a few sneak-peeks of the upcoming comedy, What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas, starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. Thanks for watching Get the Daily. I’m Dana Ward. Check us out on Monday to get the latest box office results for the weekend.

gamblerstelevision**** Hello MMA fans this is Dana Ward here with a quick hitter from Ultimate Fighting. UFC’s next fight card “JACKSON VS. GRIFFIN” will take place Saturday July 5th from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Main Event will be the UFC Light Heavyweight Title Match as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will defend his title against Forrest Griffin. Rampage has professional record of 28 wins and 6 losses and is making his second title defense. Jackson beat Chuck Lidell at UFC 71 in May of 2007 by TKO in less than 2 minutes to win the title. Rampage voiced confidence in recent interviews about fighting Griffin. The UFC Light Heavyweight champ felt the challenger would have problems in this fight due to his lack of chin and punching power commenting that his opponent’s main strength is his groundwork. Rampage is well known for his power slams and power punches. Forrest Griffin has a professional record of 15 wins and 4 losses with only 3 wins coming by way of KO or TKO. The challenger earned his title shot with a victory over Brazilian Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (ROO-ah) at UFC 76 by forcing Rua to submit to his rear naked choke. 7 of 15 victories by Griffin have come by submission.

gamblerstelevision**** MMA fans this is Dana Ward here with a quick hitter from Ultimate Fighting. Today we look at an exciting fight on the undercard of UFC 86 in the 185-pound Middleweight class, as Patrick “The Predator” Cote will battle Ricardo “Big Dog” Almeida. The winner of this fight is rumored to be in line for a title shot. Cote is a winner of 6 of his last 7 matches with 3 straight wins by TKO. At UFC 74, Cote was impressive in his dominating TKO victory over Kendall Grove. Cote is great on his feet and packs a powerful punch. “The Predator” stated he is ready for whatever Almeida brings him but expects the “Big Dog” to try and get him on the mat. Experts around the sport question Cote’s skills on the mat and point to a quick submission loss to Travis Lutter in 2 minutes 18 seconds during the first round of the Ultimate Fighter 4 finale in November of 2006. Ricardo “Big Dog” Almeida is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter and is a rock solid ground specialist. He sports an overall MMA record of 9 wins and only 2 defeats, and he is currently riding a 7-match win streak. Almeida has stated the goal is to take down Cote and to win by submission. He has been working feverishly in the tape room - studying Cote - and is looking for weaknesses in his opponent’s game. This is “Big Dog’s” second fight back since taking a 3-year retirement from the sport to run his Jiu-Jitsu school. Oddsmakers have listed Patrick Cote the slight favorite at minus-130 and Ricardo Almeida the underdog is listed at even money.
