Vocal percussion & sounds creation fascinating me from early 90's when I saw "Police Academy" movie. I haven't ambition to be live beatboxer so I use some movie tricks to multiply myself and create "polyphony" song. All sounds from 0:27 to end (except last white noise) are produced by my mouth, voice and (in some cases) by microphone properties ( for example the sound of one of "kick drums" is created by just blowing to microphone).
All materials are recorded on the green screen - I repeat "productions" four times to create "the same"(as well as possible) sounds with different camera angles. After that I mixed all this things to musicvideo. This time the sound effect is only one - reverb (to add some sound space and reduce difference between materials).
Adam Rupp is the vocal percussionist for Home Free Acappella. This is a video of one of our concerts and Adam showing some of his stuff.

Beatboxing is the art of vocal percussion. Although the term "beatboxing" derived from hip hop culture, it is not limited to hip hop music. It is primarily concerned with the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one's mouth, lips, tongue, voice, and more. It may also involve singing, vocal imitation of turntablism, the simulation of horns, strings, and other musical instruments. It is a form of Vocal music, etymologically related to Scat singing and Puirt a beul.Beatboxing's early pioneers include Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, and Buffy from the Fat Boys. Doug E. Fresh is credited for being the first "human beatbox," and Barry B for coining the term along with Buffy perfecting the art. The term "beatboxing" is derived from the mimicry of the first generation of drum machines, then known as beatboxes.

Short showreel of Jezzebelles performance at The Zodiac Sessions
Jezzebelle is Original Acoustic, Rock n' Roll, Country, Rhythm n' Roots, Melodic, Pop and probably more! It's Katie Carpenter (Vocals & Percussion) & Gary Burke (Vocals & Guitars).
2007, so far, has seen Jezzebelle win first prize in Irelands prestigious Clonmel National Song Contest for their song 'The Road Ahead', taken from their debut album 'Dirt Tracks'. In October Jezzebelle won Dublin's NOISE Concerts Battle Of The Bands, recorded new song 'Bad Seed' for soon-to-be-released-nationally acoustic compilation album 'The Potential Collection - Vol 2', played support to x-Thin Lizzy Eric Bell (and were asked back again!), been the featured band on both MySpace and the Independent Artists & Musician websites and all this while playing somewhere/anywhere twenty nights in the month and getting in the studio again to record future single 'Give It Up', which is bound for download in the new year, along with 'Bad Seed'. Oh, and they'll be shooting the videos for both tracks too!
"...their high octane-propulsion, and driving dogmatic rhythms mark them out from the crowd"
- Siobhan Long (The Ticket - Album Review)
" Katie Carpenter is in possession of a powerful, soulful instrument"
- Killian Murphy (Hotpress - Album Review)
The previous months have seen an even greater gig frequency, support slots with Don Baker (Harmonica Superstar!) and Rob Strong, appearances on Fm104's Open Mic, Newstalk's Taste, 98fm's Late Night Talk, TV interview/performance on Irelands City Channel, 4 dates at The Kilkenny Rhythm & Roots Festival 2007 including opening night, played the Wexford Hooves & Grooves Festival 2007, oh, and Jezzebelle had their music put in a kayaking DVD!
"Absolutely great, Jezzebelle don't sound like anybody else around"
- Fm104's Open Mic with Ruairi Carroll
"Great Band, Vibrant, Energetic with a fabulous Guitar Sound and Great Vocals"
- Tom Brannigan, 98fm
Jezzebelle have been writing and performing together for almost four years. 2007 saw the recording and release of their debut album 'Dirt Tracks'. It's a twelve song collection of some of their work ranging from when the band started, up until the time the album was put together.
Next up for Jezzebelle will be the arrival of 'The Potential Collection - Volume 2' and the online release of their track and video 'Bad Seed'. 2008 will see the release of their single and video 'Give It Up'. Watch for all this and more in the new year!
