Dance! Revolution!! ^_^ Odd Song! Odd Video! Odd Stepchart! ********** An odd stepchart for a song with an even odder music video. =3 The first time I saw the video for "The White Stripes" single for the album "Get Behind Me Satan" -- I found reason in the music. =) The simple music was far from my style of listening preference at the time. [regardless of genre of music, uptempo and "BIG SOUND" is how you would likely label my teenage musical preference at the time this stepchart was done!] However, there was just something about this "thump-rock" song as I'd call it each time I heard it that made its way into my psyche and eventually into a purchase of the CD and then a RiP-to-digital-format which lead to this stepchart. =3 Indeed there has not ever been an age like the Information's Age! =D The initial idea was to create a stepchart with at least 3 levels--but after finding that the timing for this song was as odd as the lyrics, music and video... I decided putting all of the ideas into a single "Oni Only" Challenge choreographed stepchart was my was the most wise of decisions. =) It turned out great! [at least to me! =D] This was the first song by the White Stripes I had heard and to date is still my most favorite. =3 "almost tech" but "not quite rock" -- the lyrics and way this song comes across certainly has it stand out from the usual. The video is also relatively unusual by comparison to some and the stepchart is well... Play it and decide for You! Stepchart Essence ********** As odd as it was--the thing that really attracted my attention to the video wasn't the "Scary ghost woman" or the "solitary-stair-walking-man" in this video but rather the beating of the dishes and the... HORSE! O.O At the time I created this stepchart I had only recently gotten into Magic: The Gathering which is a trading card game distributed by Wizards of The Coast and originated by a math teacher apparently named Garfield. We used to watch a cartoon about a cat named Garfield who loved lasagna when I was growing up. =3 Seriously though. The "Fire Horse" in the video reminded me of a card in one of my favorite decks [92 cards total!] which seemed to win a lot which had the "Fire Horse" in it by the name of "Nightmare." Later, my sister who is a cartoonist drew her rendition of Nightmare based from the card and one of my own characteristics and together a new character was created. =) Merra became her name. And for some reason... I had the doggon hardest time find a "Fire-mane-style" of horse that would fit the background of this chart that just "felt" 'quirky enough' to work with the odd rhythm, step-timing and music--so went with... wHOA! The artwork worked. ^_^ To this day... I think although certainly not one of my most in-sync stepcharts--this SUPER Stepchart remains super simply because it holds so many dear memories to me! =) Surely hope many fine memories will be recollected to you too in playing this stepchart and song! Enjoy! ^_^ Forever In Love With All That Which Exists (That Which Is Seen & Unseen, Known & Unknown), -Tiger M. Gales [THUP!! Thursday!
