We're a very hand intensive society; we use our hands all day long for all this different stuff. Especially with manufacturing, and construction, and all of those really repetitive hand intensive activities: we see things wear out, we see injuries.
I think everyone has heard about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, for example. It's a pretty common thing as people get older, and depending on the job, it's totally curable. I mean it just simply goes away; you get the pressure off the nerve and it's no longer a problem.
Trigger fingers is another thing that happens frequently; people get these fingers that catch and pop. It that takes eight minutes to release this little band, and that's gone. There is also arthritis at the base of the thumb.
