The Real HT Info Podcast assembles a computer that has all the cooling and noise considerations to make an admirable HTPC. If you've ever wanted to build your own computer, this is a good place to start.
Components used are the Antec P180 Case, Intel Core2Duo, MSI video Card, and Crucial RAM.
I also have a HTPC and I've been looking at that case but most places I've looked at sell it for 100 (newegg namely). How u get that price ?
By V0RT3X 1202602312I didn't buy all the parts for this PC in a weekend. It probably took me about 2 months of shopping around before I had everything.
Check out sites like fatwallet and slick deals. Buy in order of potential depreciation: case, power supply, Optical Drives, Hard Drives, Memory, Motherboard, CPU, Vidcard. In other words, if you have a case sitting around the house for a while, you're not going to be kicking yourself as it's retail price drops like a rock (like a CPU). Only buy great deals until you land the CPU and MOBO that you want. Then, buy up what ever else you need and haven't bought already, so you can get that computer up and running.
