- Who would be far away?
  When you get mugged/car jacked; the person would be close. Think about it - in a parking lot, who's going to draw a gun far away from you - out in the open where everyone can see? The more common scenario would be someone sneaking behind you, putting a gun to you or a knife to your throat.

  I'm saying only an idiot criminal gets that close to you if he has a gun. Never get within hand to hand combat range if you have the tactical advantage with your gun.
