it's not like you can go to the mall and calculate the total of your groceries in your head. the number had to be in a certain ways that the possibility of this technique being useful to you is 1 to a 3.4567 million.

Multiplying by this method can only be done if specific conditions meet....which will rarely happen when you need to multiply some random numbers.

Some of my best friends are from Japan and India. I know for a fact that neither of those countries are even permitted to use calculators in class. Therefore, they are forced to make calculations in their heads, and for problems that tend to be even more difficult that those we practice here in the States.
