    ok I was in Side, Turkey on 29 March from 4 am to 4 pm and it was real..there were thousands of other people there on the centre line of the eclipse. It was more astonishing than the news video...go to Mongolia 01 August 2008 for the next one and July 22nd 2009 in China for 4 mins of totality...stand in the shadow of the moon

      I've witnessed the 99 total eclipsed in north of france... It was just insane. Eventhough you know this is totally supossed to happen, u still feel very weird. It gets significantely colder, it gets really dark (u have the luminosity of a full moon night or less maybe). All the birds go silent, there is little breeze. Very perturbing, very powerful. Im sure uneducated people think its he end of the world.

      I was in the South of Germany that day in august 1999, where we could see the total eclipse. It was an amazing experience. The day just turns completely dark when the last bit of sun disappears, the wind stops blowing, the birds are quiet, the dogs who were excited came to a sudden stop, the crowd goes wild, it's an immense experience. And when the slightest bit of sun reappears, the wind returns, the birds start singing and the C**ks start crowing. Intense!

      I think Rebel44 meant tribes as in people who have never seen a computer before or perhaps even electricity, meaning they have little knowledge of what is actually occuring in the world around them other than their immediate environment. I don't think he meant regular citizens like yourself.
