Building a computer from start to finish.
If someone actually wants to build a PC for a fair price, this is the option for you.
Good video, I rarely give 5 stars.
thnk dude show it 2 me...... make more.
show us on technical aspect
Because i am interested in building one with the money i make from my videos making a tutorial and selling it..... and making more and more
By nks12345 1203348039 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, that`s all well and good, but why aren`t you considering some wire management ? I mean your airflow is severely flawed by that multitude of wires...
In all a good tutorial, keep `em coming. ;)
oh and thanks for the compliment on the video :)
By impulse255 1202606077 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe power wires are pretty bulky I guess, but there's still about half the area open between the drive bays and the rest of the case. Two 120mm fans are blowing through there, and no wires are obstructing the video card.
The cpu fan goes directly into a duct on the side of the case so that hardly even comes into play.
I agree that the wires don't look pretty, but I think you are overestimating their effect on the airflow. Also, the owner of this pc does not overclock anything, so it's less of a concern.
The thing actually runs quite cool, so, it's fine.
Lucky it started up. I would have used a static guard, I would have also pluggeb the power line in LAST. I have seen some builds that "come alive" on their own...
REXMO knows
Well the only thing I plugged in after the power line was the keyboard, mouse and monitor. So I can't imagine what the difference would be?
As far as "Lucky it started up", you are way too paranoid about static. We grounded ourself on the case obsessively (that's just not shown in the video because it's cut out). Given that, there was no danger of static.
Dude, you didn't grease your processor! That thing could fry in there!
Anyone who wants to do a custom build, be sure to apply a layer of thermal grease between your processor and heatsink, or the heat will not disperse properly. A friend of mine had to replace his cooked processor because he missed that step.
where were the times when we had BIG cpus with double fans and a circuit board in a plastic housing...
By tr-derin 1202233570 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs the guy above says, the stock intel heatsink comes with this sticky thermal paste stuff already applied onto the heatsink. So you just place it down onto the CPU and that's it.
By impulse255 1200976903 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDude, when is the last time you build a PC ? the year 2000?
Intel p4 processors come with a heatsink and there's a square of thermal paste on that heatsink.
It'll only make them think they're smart enough to do it, and cost the RMA process time and money
By vaxman 1200639873 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWay more advanced than mine. After watching the video, my motherboard looks a lot more vacant now.
By Geft 1200117096 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNext time include a price tag on the items(parts) you bought.
By Crazy Bee 1199762583 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm quite sure there won't be a next time, but part of the reason I didn't include prices is because they would be out of date months before I actually put up the video, plus I bought it in Canadian money so depending on exchange rates, etc, it wouldn't really be relevant for a lot of the viewers. The PC without monitor was about $2000.
By impulse255 1199827679 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell , what ever they say i thought it was a great effort on your part , and we all thank you for showing use how its done ... Keep up the great work ...
By bobby52 1199699961 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGuyz it's a cool video and clearly alot of effort has been put in it! He deserves a Four
By Roristaaaaaaa 1199640286 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm glad you like it. Metacafe doesn't, as they have just rejected it for producer rewards, despite the fact that it's popular and has a high rating.
By impulse255 1199651949 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeso how long u been doing this? i want to build my own desktop eventually but that takes money =( all i got is a laptop for now
By the_eclipse107 1199825840 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've only built a few full systems actually. My current computer was the first one I ever built, and that was almost 5 years ago (yeah, I really need a new computer lol, but at least I have upgraded this one a lot - which is the big advantage of building your own pc when you know what parts to get - you buy the ones that will allow you to do a ton of upgrading in the future).
By impulse255 1199949191 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebuilding it
ask a nice company to do it with your own composant selection
your only gonna pay 100$ or something like taht !
+ no mistake in the connection within the core
Music and script was good, but would rather commentary on process. Thanks for Video, hope U make more........;-)
By Olibhear 1199410213 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for the comment. I contemplated doing a commentary but decided not to. I think I will on my next video.
By impulse255 1199410722 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI look 4ward to CN it, and Happy New Year................ ;-)
By Olibhear 1199411462 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGood thing he doesn't build mine - no ESD protection seen anywhere.
By Slittzz 1199392996 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewe were touching the case obsessively probably 10 times more than we needed to, to protect against ESD. I know you can get those bracelet things and what not, but touching the case a lot is good enough in my experience.
By impulse255 1199393847 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have been building computers for many years, and this video will help lots of folks who plan to obtain a new computer. My computers are always "more bang for the buck" because I buy the parts separately and get quality and better prices, and the labor is actually fun!
By sunnyshalo 1199193805 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei like to know how much tha system cost you ?
By aman aman 1199133620 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe system was purchased back in spring 2007. I'd have to search around for the invoices and stuff, but to the best of my recollection the system cost about $2000 Canadian without the monitor. It was built for somewhat of a power user, but not a gamer - which is why the video card isn't that great.
By impulse255 1199137777 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedid you buy a mouse with a wire attched to it? I love my wireless keyboard and mouse.
By oketa 1198997958 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIn the past, wireless keyboards have been laggy and unreliable - perhaps they are better now, but even if they are, this computer was built on a budget and we had already gone over budget, so we saved a few bucks by getting a cheaper keyboard. Pretty much the same reason for the mouse, the G7 wireless was like $50 more than this G5, so... not really worth it.
Thanks for watching :)
