    This goal is from 96, when Ronaldo was at his peak, and was really a phenomenon! At that year he scored another goal just like, dribbling everyone all the way from the midfield, being pushed and pulled by the shirt. Unfortunately, in 99 he had a terrible knee injure in Inter Milan, did not play for one year and when he came back, he suffered a second knee injury. He would take almost two years to recover from that injury and everybody believed his career was over. Nevertheless in 2002 he won the award for world's best player the third time, but was never the same. During that time in 96, he was the best player I have ever seen playing, even better than Pele or Maradona, he was just unstoppable. A lot of people agrees with that such as Mourinho, Chelsea's coach.

      Ronaldo was such a legend. During this 2006 world cup i hear commentators criticizing him, and say he simply isn't the same. I sometimes feel that they forget that his injury has completely transformed his style. He simply isn't allowed or maybe even physically cannot do all those step-overs and sharp turns because it puts far too much pressure on that terrible knee injury. He was better than Maradona and Pele, it's a shame that people seem to forget that. He took apart dogged dirty defensive teams in italy, blitzed spanish league teams, and barring the final was by far the supreme player in the 98 world cup. P.S. have you noticed this change in his style - he shoots very early and dribbles less after his injury

      Ronaldo 96-98 greatest goal machine ever. Ever. This boy was unstoppable when he was 20-22, not even a players peak(Ronldinho is now 25) He rinsed La Liga then went to ultra defensive Serie A and had them wondering whether he was from another planet. Ronny, you were gonna be 'The Greatest', but for all those mugs who don't understand they should still recognise that you were 'Il Phenomenon'.
