On a spring day in 1820 14-year-old Joseph Smith sought solitude in a grove of trees and prayed to know which church was true. God the Father and Jesus Christ, "two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description," appeared and spoke with him.

Wondering which of the many churches to join, Joseph had followed the counsel in the Bible's book of James: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." The Lord told Joseph "that all the religious denominations were believing in incorrect doctrines" and that he was to await further instructions from on high. "In a state of calmness and peace indescribable," Joseph left that sacred grove knowing the reality of our Father in Heaven and His resurrected Son, Jesus Christ.

Joseph Smith's first vision stands today as the greatest event in world history since the birth, ministry, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. After centuries of darkness, the Lord opened the heavens to reveal His word and restore His Church through His chosen prophet.

Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, not once, but innumerable times throughout his life. He translated the Book of Mormon, organized the true Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth once more and restored the plain and precious truths which were lost due to the apostasy of men. He lived great and he died great in the eyes of God!

  • False Teacher

Seeing a vision is one thing. Believeing man and not what God says in His word is another. I am not even going to get into scripture, because, one mormons will lose the debate, has happen more than once. Two, I am not here to discuss religion. False Teacher is what Joesph Smith is and whoever listens to him, as well as watchtower and other false doctrines there is only one place for them, the lake of burning sulfur. Whatever religion. I saw a light he said, because he was confused he said, instead of waiting on God to teach him in His Holy Word, this man was light to by Satan, who dressed up as an angel of light and got him to writing a book that, the mormons hold more dearly than the Holy Bible. Repent, because your end is destruction.

That is too bad that you think the Mormons will lose the debate. I don’t care what you believe it is your belief as what I believe is mine. Since you do not claim to have heard Gods voice it is merely your opinion what you believe. If you do not believe that God will reveal his knowledge and truth to man today then what is the point of it all. Even the Bible or Koran or Torah requires you to ask God if it is true. That is unless you are a blind believer. The bottom line is ASK GOD. If you believe in God then ask him what is true. If you honestly believe that God cares what you know and believe then he will direct you to his answer. I often wonder why is it so easy for some to believe in the miracles of the bible but deny the possibility of anything like it happening in modern times.
