Tram Derails [13+]

The driver of that tram was speeding...that's why the tram flew out of the track.
This guy comment that the infrastucture is too old is inadequate.
Trams in the Czech have 1000s kms and every day transport milions of people...because of few rare even though bad looking wrecks you cannot say that they are poorly maintained or they are not safe enough to serve people.look at car or bike wrecks...the trams are still much safer.
Use tram every day for over 20 years in the Czech and never anything happened to me.

Hi. I didn't mean any offence by saying the tram system is old and dilapidated. It's just my opinion based on comparison to London. I have been to the wonderful city of Prague many times, as well as Budapest. The first thing that strikes you about the transport in these countries is the poor condition a lot of it seems to be in. But having said that, there are many many more very good things about these places, and the transport system is part of it's charm. And I'm not saying London is the best. The bus drivers here are possibly the worst in the world and the 140 year old underground system has many problems and is too expensive. I hope you continue to travel safely.

...point of view. The public transport in Prague is very sophisticated, based on a balanced system of trams, buses and the metro (that's how we call the tube (or subway)) and a good layout of their routes. It is reliable and helps you get easily around even at night (as you might know since you said you came here often). A majority of the rolling-stock is either new or has undergone a complete recontruction and transports hundreds of thousands of people every day. There will always be accidents but I assure you that in Prague, they are rare...
...and as you might've read, it was the driver's fault for he was speeding...

...and mind you - there was no 'Soviet regime' here :-) Communist, yes, but not Soviet. The former Czechoslovakia was never a part of the USSR... just a detail but... you know... ;-)

i dont like people dieing like this there only people like ur mom, dads ,sisters going out to shop or any were now there dead :(

I live in Czech republic too and I think one person died in hospital.

i'm not from prague. i don't drive a tram. i'm not drunk (yet). i haven't run anyone over. and i can still say you're all full of shit. and anyone expressing false sympathy can kiss may ass. you wouldn't watch the video unless you expected disaster.

the tram runed double speed of normal - driver was DRUNKED

its simple the tram went around the corner to fast and it let go of the rails. a little bit like how a water skier uses the turn to gain speed and jump the wake of the boat. nothing to do with god.

I would like you to be under the wheels of that tram. It really happend and I think two or three people has been killed and the video is scratchy 'cause it's street camera.
