I take it you might be an aussie? We get all these weather phenomena right here in australia too, unlike the usa ours hit in areas where there is liitle population and we call alot of our storms by a different name to that of the usa but they are one in the same storms for eg: a cyclone is the equivalent of a hurricane why its called differently in different parts of the world who knows! We get twisters as well but they mostly occur in areas where there is very few population wise and seldom are buildings destroyed and as we humans produce more heat and build in the areas of concern well we will experience the same and most likely as devistating as the united states, it's a given.
