they had much lower sales than needed to keep it afloat for a redesign. interior was rated bad. shoulda bought the 25th special anniversary edition. that one was excellent

if i couldent have a porche i would get a Z06, F**k these light weights... nothing compared to Stock Z06...

How much for a 9 second mustang?

At least GM cars are cheep to modify, but you don't see to many 800-1000 Hp Camaros on the street either.

I hear these Mustang guys tell me what heads the need with what supercharger, and what chip. they will be saving for many years before they get there supercharger to make what 400 maybe 500 hp. put on a nice turbo and manifold on the stock supra engine, with a nice retune. the car is damb fast. and still looks better than the mustang or camaro.

But you are probably comparing recent mustangs and camaros. Take a 69 camaro. Drop a 427 in that beast, and you are pulling 11 to 12 stock. you can easily pull 9's with that old car, cheaper than you can pick up most supras.

First JZA80 was released late 93, last JZA80 to run off the Japanese production line was in 2001. Best Supra model to get is the RZ 1996 - 1997 Series 2. Stay away from the VVTi motors that Toyota used from 1997 onwards

I think 96 Automatic was a good year...they added a s-load of torque to the Automatic Supra of the year 1996

they stopped making them in 97 (15th anniversary edition, really 17th year). they're a dime-a-dozen in chicago and texas. twin-turbo was 260hp

The first generation was the hatchback, the second generation was toyota's very impressive jza70 which stopped production in 1991, then the 3rd and most popular generation came the jza80 which started in 1993 - 1998 with an addition of 9 quicksilver supras and the supra plan was officialy scratched 2000 yet no supras were produced in 1999.... all of which are extremely well built and fast

...gone for good. There was a proto-type of the mkv (next in the series) but it was never developed. They stop production in mid 1998, but started selling again for 4 months in 2001 with the last ever supra's (has a semi-auto gearbox). The car had major problems with my countries (including australia where im from) as the emission control laws prohibited the sales of such vehicles. 2nd hand imports are the only alternative. This was much worse in Europe and with so few countries purchasing the car (less than 20 a month to all of Europe in 98) the supra was taken from the market.

oh and the best model is not the 96. There is no 6-speed TT's manuals for this year. This was due to a change in the manufacturing laws in japan and the new design for the 6 speed manual was not released in time for that year. -95 has a much simpler ECU and it easy to remove the cats. 97+ needs a work around but other than that, very little differences (one main visual difference is the headlights change as each models came out.

Toyota did not stop production till 2002. Japan Production figures are as follows 1998 - 3090 units, 1999 - 842 units, 2000 - 468 units, 2001 - 409 units, 2002 - 337 units. Last Supra rolled off August 2002. Drop in sales was the reason for the Toyota stopping production and it was an old model. Pity Toyota never replaced the JZA80 with a newer updated model. If they did it would have been the JZA90 MKV. Hold thumbs

modding didnt become a major thing untill fast and the furious thus the market for the car was not there now when fast and the furious came out people saw the orange supra towards the end everybody wanted one and tune it now theres a market for the car if they were to produce them becuz theres a shitload of people that tune cars and turn them into street tuners

so they can let american's europeon's australian's n other cars catch up 2 japanese technology ;)
