I didn't come up with it either, but I really like it. Its so simple. It makes you wonder how many other great ideas are just sitting there right in front of us, but we never think of them.

You noticed those little extras. The other thing that I threw into the video was a pair of exotic shoes from my collection. I try to showcase my collection any time I have a chance. So far, the only other chance I had was the shoe tieing demonstration video. Did you see that one? Its another simple trick that really works.

Dam..this is a feaking good idea for taking night shoot. I just went back from China holiday with some night and low light shooting, most of them are just shaked and quit blur. I wish I could know this trick early. anyway, good tips and I hope you will success with this video. 5 stars from me and I will share this video at my TricksPRO.com website soon.

This is a great idea! I have a Canon Powershot A630 which does great in well-lit environments, but lacks in dimmer light, making camera shake even worse. I will definitely be trying this :D
Tripods really suck. Especially if it's a certain shot that requires immediate action. And panning is pretty amazing with video. Thanks!

though, i bet it'll induce fatigue pretty quickly, especially lugging around a 400 f/2.8 with a 1.4x II all the time. :D
To everything. But is is a great way to avoid carrying a tripod. Of course it is not going to work on long exposures and a big piece of glass is certainly going to get heavy. I suppose if you are running around with 400mm F/2.8 then weight is not one of your biggest concerns and you probably don't even notice the added weight of a tripod.

I am not sure whether kipkay has seen my video or not, so I am not going to say that he stole my idea. Plus, I can't actually take credit for the idea. It is one of the tricks of the trade that. Not too many people know about it. But, still I didn't come up with the idea
I suppose that having something like that on a kipkay video can't really hurt the traffic to my video. Hopefully it will send a little more trafic my way.

Suspend two cords (or one huge loop) from the bolt and use one under each of your spread feet, thus creating a triangle. It seems to make some reduction in lateral judder.

with the loop around the foot Idea. You could do that and run it up your pants leg. I shoot weddings every now and then. Have a birthday coming up . Cool add on to a genius idea , Thanks .
you are talking about having the string come out the top of your pants. I guess that would work. It may even work to tie it onto your belt if you have a little more gut than I do to hold you belt down.

That sounds like the perfect application. It obviously is not going to work for long shutter speeds, but it will handle a broad range of the middle-speed shots. Its also great for the tight quarters of a boat.
