  • biggest expense is batteries

    not the flashlight. Not to mention you have to take it apart every week to change the batteries. It's wasteful because you can't turn it off during the day. Maybe if you drilled into the candy jar and ran a AC/DC adapter up into the battery compartment instead, or had some sort of daylight sensor, maybe you'd get a much better rating.
