never heard of that stuff before - maybe it's the secret behind the smoke monster on Lost ;)

Most videos I see, the fluid stains the glass. Why is your fluid not staining your glass. Is there different qualities or is there a trick to it?

WOW that is so cool, it looks so trippy that it looks fake, but its not....right?

how does it not stain the glass because i did some research and found out it stains almost everything

I wonder, could there be another transparent fluid like the one you use along with the ferrofluid here, but whose density is as similar as possible to the ferrofluid?

I'm thinking, that should allow you to shake the ferrofluid into very small droplets in suspension on the other liquid, and it'd make it, ideally, much more visually responsive to smaller magnetic fields... allowing you to use the vial as an EMF detector of sorts.

Commercially available? It seems like it might make an interesting kid's toy, kinda like an interactive lava lamp. Does it react differently when different amounts of magnetic force is applied?
