Chloe, the Karate Girl in an Impressive martial arts routine.
I bet she's a great F**k too...
By canito 1144795273 Reply Spam [+15] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI can do that too. The split and everything... What she lacks is tae kwon do style.. She has no style... She just stretches her legs doing some kicks.. So what?!. Where is the harmony??
By MySt|cTrE3 1157633767 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThey're all about flash. How are you gonna bash Chloe's style? Martial arts isn't meant to be a flashy thing, it's meant to be a practical thing.
Regardless, Chloe Bruce has fake hips, so I'm not at all impressed by this routine. She doesn't really deserve any recognition at all.
of course you are't able to do that...you are just another jerk sitting in you room watching metacafe clips...she can extend and bend very well, but she just showed you a Show...not martial arts at all...
By Zigy101 1172041720 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt even wasn't even a karate style. Just because she's flexible, it's hard to beleive she's a white belt. She does do some cool "flipping tornado round side kicks".
By scottrobot 1176650806 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'll send my girlfriend to practice that:) It looks better than kamasutra:)
By mike30091984 1172659904 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThere's no speed/power to her routine, if she wanted to show off she could've done a lot cooler stuff.
That show she put on wouldn't help her at all on the streets (unless her attackers fall down laughing...jk, it was better than that)
You read my mind.

By gravityjay 1159882503 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewould like to let her pick that leg up for me, you could get her from behind like that too.
By yeahboooooooooy 1145049229 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt's a stage show/ demo and it's supposed to ENTERTAIN and in my opinion it certainly was entertaining. I certainly have no interest in whether her kicks have power or not. No matter what level of martial arts skill you are, you'd have to admit, she has some skill and looks hot as well. And I'll also second canito's comment.
By beyond 1145009357 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei think she indeed would be a great lay
By dustin 1144840510 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBeing a Karate instructor. I would not advance her. There is no power in those kicks. There's no emphisis! It's a dance.

By slideride 1167818211 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI agree Uk, looks like a dance. No power. She lack so much power that it even looks a little slow. Eventually I hope she gets some muscle on them bones. But: she's young, and definitely a talent. Go girl, don't you quit on us!
By _Ron_ 1145381657 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewould have to agree. But its probably not meant to be powerful just a demo. Still you are right there is no power.
By big willy 247 1145111210 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeshe's on stage, there's music, lights and back up dancers. It's a show for chrisakes. So WHY would a sifu be judging her for advancing in this situation? It's a dumb comparison. Do you have a stage, music
By dragons79 1145029353 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebeen a martial artist for 16 years i would say amazing talent, great dedication and beatifully executed. i see what you mean about the power but as she wasn't fighting anyone i will give her the benefit of the doubt that she is talented. As martial arts isnt about power it's about skill, dedication and the determination to succeed.
By barz26 1145007815 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt has nothing to do with power. Its practicality.
In a real fight you cant survive on occasional punches and high kicks.
There is talent. Now she needs to know how to use it effectively.

By nsfw 1144892780 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeremember the old days when martial arts was about self defence not ballet dancing? and to the guy who said there is no back kick in tkd what belt are you at? you should know a back kick by the time you have a yellow belt. If you don't I would look into a different school because your getting scammed.
By WhatMeWorry 1144891215 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei'm not sure where to begin, first off, back kick is a BASIC kick so, i'd say by WHITE belt... and secondly Wushu can very well be transfered into real fighting, as I can personally prove, and I'm nowhere NEAR as good as that rather sexy chick... So don't go bad mouthing other peoples forms and arts because you think your's is special, becuase I'll let you come and train with me for a day if you think Wushu is easy... Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1144900314 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei said the kick should be known by yellow belt. I have seen these pretty nice patterns done by people who can't fight or defend themselves, but man do they look good doing patterns(and yes that goes for my own style as well). When I started doing this stuff24 years ago tournaments and demos like this took a back seat to what martial arts is realy about. Again I would not put down a kung fu system since my kickboxing was done under a white crane gung fu instructor who could still kick my ass without working up a swet. and thank you I did have a nice day. :)
By WhatMeWorry 1144963538 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefor anyone looking to try and trash kung fu (no he was not the kick boxer I trained with, to Bad for me). and the other end of the deal would be benny the jet. karate stylest and I am sure any system has produced champions. As for women fighters this girl is a fany kicker you want a real fighter look up kathy long, she can kick ass. and I am still having a nice day so thanks again. :)
By WhatMeWorry 1144963966 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI Completely agree. High kicks are impressive, but not powerful. The only purpose of high kicks are for balance, and to make your lower kicks more powerful.
high kicks may be pretty, but in a real fight the other leg would get kicked out from underneath her, or if the opponent was smart, theyd get close to her. then shes helpless.
This was defenetly just a dance.
It's a very first video of her because she gained in assurance by now...By the way, i think the best artistical martial artist(women) is Nicky Berwick...Older than Chloe but really impressive.
I was just gonna say that... She looks pretty too.
By Maximilius 1144887293 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveActually no style is any better than any other style. I have trained Martial arts for 35 years, and I train under several masters who have trained for many more. i have trained shotokan, Wado Ryu, Judo, Jeet Kune Do, Tai Chi Chuan, Qi gong , kick boxing and aikido. I have travelled and trained with many martial artists around the world. from all this I can say, with authority, that your martial skills are far more important than what style you train.
That said, it takes at least 3 lifetimes to master the martial arts, So I consider myself still very much a beginner. I have researched the martial arts a great deal and trained with and learned from some of the best practitioners on the planet and THEY consider THEMSELVES beginners. They all have open minds and are very keen to learn more.
All this "this style is better than that style stuff is menaingless. I have seen doormen with no formal training whatsoever rip a new one in dan grades and black belts and 'self proclaimed masters' of several styles. It is the skill - NOT the style that counts.
This girl in the video is very talented, but she has shown zero martial ability in this. she is excellent at this dancing kata, and no doubt does have powerful relaxed kicks and fast punches and much talent, but she does not show it in this video. her timing, from a martial, standpoint is terrible.
You need to assess the basics of your skills. from your feet, posture, timing (stringing the pearls), internal energy, external expression, mind focus, and much, much more. Apply all the basic principles to any martial art, from boxing, karate, judo, kung fu or even ballet and you will have excellent and very effective martial skill.
All this "My style is better than your style" is childish rubbish and you demean and disrespect your style and the masters who have passed on the knowledge.
As for Bruce Lee, sorry to burst your fantasies, but he was very fast and very talented, but there are 60 year old women in china that could hand him his ass on a plate. he was very good, and in western terms, revolutionary in mixing styles, but he was not the greatest ever.
You show yourselves to be unworthy of the title of martial artist when you resort to my style is better than yours.
Finally, someone actually has their head screwed on.
These people need to realize that It isnt the style, (for the most part.) Its how well you do it.
Personally, i do judo, jujitsu, aikido, and shotokan. I find that a mix of those martial arts produces a greater fighter, but thats just because Im good at it.
Its not how big you are or how much power you have. Im a small girl. 5'4 115 lbs, and I Toss west point cadets around like nothing. High kicks i find are only made for practice, and improving your low kicks.
I dont realy want to get into the bruce lee thing, but if you think he was'the best' you're wrong, and you should wear a sign explaining how stupid you are on your back at all times.
High kicks can be efective if you know when and how to use them. part of combinations counters and so on. personal training is in the korean version of your arts. Tae kwon do , hapkido and for that international flavour some judo and kickboxing. did some shotokan when I was younger and enjoyed it. a lot of tae kwon do is from shotokan so the change was not that hard. TKD guys hate it when you mention that by the way. so have fun with it. ;)
By so lost 1145172985 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI still think bruce was a great fighter but not as great as everyone thinks. but his mind was the real thing that was ahead of his time. and to save time yes i know he could kick my ass.

By IpeeFreely 1145079793 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt must be very difficult to mix dance, “shadow fighting†karate and looking so sexy on stage all at the same time.
Anyone out there who has ever learnt to be good at Boxing, Kick Boxing or Karate will know that it’s takes more stamina and energy to practice that type of fight training.
Constant kicking, especially high kicks, zap energy level very quickly, more energy is used “shadow fighting†than the energy used (in the same period) in the ring fighting an opponent, even holding your leg at 45 degrees for even 5 second isn’t easy
Shadow fighting isn’t about using power, its stamina, accuracy and endurance.
When you see professional boxers by themselves warming before a fight, you seee little power is in them punches however, when the trainer put the hand pads on you see the difference in the warming up technique.
A fighter loses more strength from a punch that totally misses the target as no energy is returned as is, when the punch fully connects with the target.
ALL THAT SAID, THE MAIN FEATURE IS BEING LEFT OUT BY MANY OF YOUR COMMENTS!!!!! WHATCH IT IN THE SPIRIT IT WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN IN. THIS IS FASCINATING FOOTAGE OF A GORGEOUS YOUNG LADY ENTERTAINING THE MASSES WITH HER UNIQUE BODY BEAUTIFUL DANCE AND KARATE MOVES, WE SHOULD ALL BE SAYING TO HER, WELL DONE AND WHENS THE NEXT ONE BEING RELEASED? !!!!!
Wow. Nice flexibility. For those of you internet warriors who are trying to determine what martial art she uses, just stfu and enjoy the video. Some will say it's Karate because video poster wrote it as karate or behind has a building that looks like Japanese fortress and she has styles and forms, some people will say it's tkd because her kicks are everywhere, some people will say it's wushu because it's a dance, some people will say it's capoeira because she uses her hands in ground to do kicks and she flips sometimes. Well guess what, this argument will never end. I did TKD and I can do handstand. Does that make me a capoeira fighter? no. For those of you who are comparing this dance with a fight and saying that she's weak, you people need common sense. There are arts that train to become a fighter, arts that train to become a dancer, and arts that train for specific purposes.
Obviously people who train to fight, like Chuck Lidell will kill this girl. There are some idiots who say that dance arts are weak and shouldnt train. You better guess again.
Ever heard of Wushu and Capoeira? They're both dancing martial arts. But when they fight, all their dance skills can be transferred to fighting and they have much more strength in their attacks than if they're using their strength from dance movements for fighting. Because I've seen with my eyes, my friend, who does wushu, beated the F**k out of this Muslim kickboxer in high school. Isn't kickboxer suppose to beat wushu fighter for fighting according to ideal fighting arts? All these martial arts comparison will never end because everyone has uniqueness and different characteristics.
Better fighter for that day will win the fight that day.

By -El CONEJO XXX- 1144957557 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHer flexibility is amazing and has fairly well defined techniques, but with the exception of her front punch, which part of that routine was actually practical? I don't think it's very likely you're going to be kicking someone directly above you or doing a flying double front kick going two directions in an actual fight.
I'm not judging too harshly, but I'd like to see an actual martial arts demonstration before I say whether or not I'm impressed.
Back-kick is the most basic kick in TaeKwonDo, next to front kick and roundhouse of course. If you dont know backkick in taekwondo. im afraid youd lose every competition :P

but why is she in chinese wushu garb?
and why are the dancers dressed like chinese people?
karate is freaking japanese man.....
cant the supreme race tell the difference??
Can't seem to find any use for that high kick, other than during sex of course.
Other than that, i wish i could see her during actual fighting, because i think she wouldn't control the situation very good.
And that slow-mo swing kick would most likely shatter some bones if done on the street, and im not talking about the oponent she's fighting.
Besides, who want's to learn karate anyways? There are so many other different and more interesting martial arts to learn.
If you think this was cool, try searching for ninjitsu, kraw maga or kong fu.
Im not saying they are better, but they are certanly more interesting than karate.

Why do not see kung fu idiots like Jeet Lee in a real free fight? Cause they would get their ass handed to them. That girl is like what 120 pounds? She could have a free kick to my head for sport, and she could not even come near dropping me. You kung fu people live in a dream world, and have yet to meet a real fighter. Start doing ballet, or start fighing like men.

But out of all boxing arts, people prefer muaythai, followed by kickboxing and kyokushin karate. I respect muaythai, kickboxers, and kyokushin karate fighers because I like Buakaw Por Pramuk (muaythai), Masato Kobayashi (kickboxing), and Andy Hug (kyokushin karate).
By Locamoca 1146531287 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemovePeople say kung fu isn't used for fighting because of taoism and all those bullshit. But they're just an excuse to protect little kung fu pussies from getting beat up. All that kung fu mumbojumbo bullshit they do, such as flying kicks, forms with fast hands, running around, gravity control bullshit i see in crouching tiger hidden dragon, jet li movies, won't work on me. What the F**k are they going to do when they're tackled down? Chi power? That is some bullshit tactic to fight people. If Chi is any useful, fighters would've used those by now. Chi is just for gay meditation nobody cares about. I can grab those little kung fu ppl and toss them around whenever the F**k I want. If those kung fu people are in the cage, wtf are they gonna do? "Don't fight, we have to respect taoism"? "Hold , i gotta revive the supernatural chi power that comes out after 30 years?" For kung fu people, you got guts? come down to my crib. My crib is in NY and I work at Players Club as a security guard. Drop by during nighttime and prove your little trickery S**t on me. Bruce Lee is the only chinese foo I give props and respect because he ain't like no other weak chinese pussies and fights people face to face. All those chinse fight arts are fo making money. I could care less as to what happened on a show.... anyone that steps into those rings shouldn't be looked at as a Martial Artist, but as fighters, petty ones at that... and the reason you don't ever see people like Jet Li in those comps is because they kinda defeat the purpose of training the spiritual side of Martial Arts, sure it takes alot of spiritual training to take a hit to the face like that, but it also defeats the purpose of training which would be to defend yourself with the least amount of force necessary, which would be to not fight at all, so you didn't prove anything to anyone except the gullible people that watch that S**t Have a nice day :)

By the sea 1145034906 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKung fu is a very weak style of martial arts. I've trained in Shotokan (true karate), Kendo (Japanese fencing) and Judo (way of the Jew, haha) for more that 20 years. Every mixed martial arts contest I've been in against Chinese and Korean styles I never lost to once. Their kicks are very slow and weak and there punches are almost never used. I especially like when they stand with their feet very close that makes it very easy to sweep both of their legs. Chinese and Korean styles look good but are no good for real fighting. However, the UFC crap does not show much skill to me, ie. duck your head, charge the guy, tackle him and choke him out, BORING! I want to see someone that can put a roundhouse 1" away from your head and pull it back, knowing you could have crushed the guys skull! THAT IS SKILL!!!
By Shotokan 1144943742 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMr.Shotokan Japanese - MartialArt - nutsucker. For Kung Fu, ever heard of Bruce Lee, Jet Li? For Korean, ever heard of Chuck Norris, who trained in Tang Soo Do? Why was it that Tae Kwon Do and Capoeira were known to have best kicks in the world for versatility and strength? I'm Korean and I have taken TKD but if you think TKD is weak, go to Korea and see what happens. In US, TKD is crap because they just want money. But in Korea, they have strong TKD training sessions. And btw, if you didn't realize, Shotokan Karate never made it to Olympics and people preferred TKD over Shotokan Karate. And 2008, Wushu might be in Olympics. And also, for UFC, only Karate that people prefer is Kyokushin Karate and people rarely use Shotokan. Judo is (way of the Jew)? Wtf. Only martial arts Jewish people have is Krav Maga. And in UFC, why is it that most fighters have Muaythai, Brazilian Jiujutsu, kickboxing, and wrestling background as their primary art and they have TKD, Kyokushin Karate, Judo, as their supplement martial arts? If you think UFC is crap, why don't you join? Or if you like things to be much more brutal, why not join K1? You realize that it's open for anyone who got guts to fight. And btw, you think Shotokan is the only art where you can kill people in one hit? ROFL. Almost every martial arts teach techniques to kill people in one hit. And from what I know, Wing Chun was known for having the fastest hands if you didn't know because that's what they mostly focus on although I can be proven partially wrong by Wing Chun expert. And oh wow, you beat up one weak Chinese guy who tried to prove you wrong. Is that a way you jump to conclusion and say Kung FU is weak? Maybe go to China and step into a Shaolin temple and have an official fight. I want to see a video of it. Really. Stop talking S**t about other martial arts you internet - cocksucking warrior. I suggest you cancel your internet service, and take martial-art classes and stop the superiority of one art to another.

Only thing they focus on is hitting person's face and avoiding getting hit in your head because their body is hella solid as rock. Their knee attacks are scary. I train muaythai with my sand bag. UFC ,K1, etc. I have never been impressed with, sorry. I do not think Shotokan is the only martial art worth training in, however I do believe it is superior due to the other styles I have fought against! I have also trained in judo and kendo for many years and in a street fight, 3 that I've been in, I have found them all useful! As far as the guy's face I smashed he was not Chinese. As far as me being, "discriminating" I would have to agree to some extent. However, I have formulated MY OPINIONS from personal experience! Again, I do not think Shotokan is the only MA worth pursuing, to each hs own. As I have stated I have also been trained in Judo and Kendo. I have found that Judo is helpful for close in type stuff while Kendo helps develop unreal quickness and speed! Mix it all together and it works great for myself as well as others I know!
Shotokan S**ks balls. Korean martial arts and Chinese martial arts are weak? I trained in Kyokushin Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Muaythai, Wushu, Shotokan and Sambo. Shotokan is whack as F**k I got 1st dan in 4 months and I was able to knock shotokan sensei up his ass. he was an ass too, japanese F****t if u got balls, come to Los Angeles. I'm a Muaythai fighter. Gichin Funakoshi looks like a weak migit. People exaggerate about him and tries to rise his fame by using Masutatsu Oyama. I can kill Funakoshi anyday. Even though I'm a martial artist, i never witnessed so much ignorance against arts i've studied. i'm 1st dan black belt in shotokan, 2nd dan in tae kwon do, i trained in muaythai for 4 years now, 1st dan in kyokushin, 2nd dan in hapkido(got it with tae kwon do) and i do sambo with my friends. some stuff thoraii say, i don't agree, like best kicks, but shotokan is way below martial arts requirement.

Also, as far as "shotokan is way below martial arts requirement" I guess it depends upon the practitioner and his/her training. I, myself, have fought each style you mention (aside from Sambo) and have yet to loose to. If you want to talk about subpar styles tought in the USA tae kwan do is at the top of the list! Every idiot who gets his first black belt opens a school. This just makes for a very weak style! I do think their are good points to tae kwan do, but as a stand alone style, it is wanting!!!

And seriously, I do TKD and Hapkido but I don't stick with those martial arts and be biased about it. I look into reality and face the facts. I try to learn all the effective techniques from every martial arts if I can. But it's funny to see internet warriors like you who say "korean and chinese martial arts are weak". My friend was reading all these comments and laughed how you were making fun of chinese martial arts. Did you know that Karate originated from Chinese martial art called Shaolinquan? And btw, you think using UC RIverside statistics is a good way to determine which art is the best for fighting? Every universities have different hypothesis, different observation, different conclusions. Wow, it's so fun humiliating internet warriors like you. You talk as if I'm defending TKD. I've stated that for ideal fighting arts, most people prefer Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiujutsu, Kyokushin Karate, Wrestling.
And btw, the most racist race of this world in general is Europeans(white) if you took History course. Just stop humiliating yourself from metacafe. This is really sad. Just cancel your internet service already and jerk off with your Shotokan pride or whatever. I can care less whatever you use. Just stop spreading your gayness into metacafe community.
OK? DO NOT say that CHuck Norris took SHotokan as his primary art. Chuck NORRIS is disgraced now. You ought to do research and stop talking S**t with your puny brain. Beat me up? You know what's funny? Every little pussies like you that I've talked to or encountered, when they talk beef and want to start S**t , I end up kicking their asses. From the way you talk, it's obvious that you're just a person who only has strength to sit behind keyboard and type. Don't make up some bullshit to cover the downfalls and weaknesses of shotokan karate. Most fighters prefers Kyokushin Karate over SHotokan Karate. You've never been impressed with it because the art you sucked up to, is rarely used in k1, Olympics, UFC, Pride. If you say that Shotokan isn't in Olympics bcz it's brutal, then shouldn't it be in k1, UFC, Pride? Chinese martial arts, where you called it "weak martial arts", is used as supplement martial arts in UFC, Pride, k1, etc. Wing Chun and Jeet KUne Do is used as supplement martial arts so people can train their adapting skills and reflexes and/or much more that I do not know of. You talk as if I am trying to defend my primary art. Guess what. I do TKD to train my body and to feel better about myself. I don't give a F**k about what others say and weaknesses people say about TKD. But you, obviously don't do art because most people who do martial arts, don't defame other martial arts or say that one is better than the other because they know well that most of the time, it's depended on person's training and strength. Who the F**k is Yaguchi? Anyone know who Yaguchi is besides Shotokan? Anyone? Nobody knows who the F**k he is. If he wants to show how superior Shotokan is, why not enter any of those fight competitions instead of hiding behind your keyboard and talking beef. Just stfu and stop humiliating yourself. If you want to prove that Kung Fu is weak, please step into Shaolin Temple or any Kung Fu temples and fight people in your own size. If you want to prove that Korean martial arts are weak, please step into Seoul and Inchon, where there are filled with TKD sessions and fight people in your own size instead of beating up few pussies in US who took Kung Fu and Korean MA from 1/2nd degree black belt. And wtf are you gonna do if I don't stfu. It's U who needs to stfu and stop humiliating yourself in front of metacafe. Steven Oliver, some bullshit artist who wants to make money, is a person you're judging how weak TKD is? Get Real. "I saw this person who do SHotokan and gave me black belt in 3 days" HAHAHAHA. Sounds funny and bullshit huh? That's an example of what you're doing right now. You are one discriminating F**ker who judge arts based on few wimps who are trying to make money. Did I say Shotokan was not in the Olympics due to it's being too brutal or did I say, " Shotokan is not in the Olympics due to politics"? Again, that's what I thought!!
As far as cage type fighting(K1, UFC etc), as I stated before, I'm not that impressed nor interested! Besides I'm too old (34) for that crap now! Oh well!
As far as Sensei Yaguchi goes he is close to 65 now so that type of competition is out for him, definately! He is an 8th degree black belt who came from Japan to help start Shotokan Karate in the United States 35 years ago. Sensei Yaguchi began karate training in 1952. He tested under Master Funakoshi, the founder of Shotokan Karate, for his first and second degree black belts.
So your style is TKD?!? That explains alot! Everyone of you TKD guys are the same, big mouths that can't back it up and/or you always have some excuse why you lost a match!
As far as suggesting I go to China or Korea to prove my point, grow a brain! With that same logic why don't you go to Japan to, walk into any Shotokan, Wado, etc. dojo and prove yours? I've already beat (for points) some of the best TKD and Fung Fo goof balls in the USA @the AAU Nationals! The only reason I finnished 7th in the country is because I got DQ'ed for loosing my temper and breaking the guy's face I mentioner earlier! I don't feel I have to prove anything else as far as that goes!
As far as finding (orientals) my own size? There arn't many of you out there that are my size! Besides size shouldn't matter in a point match only skill and rank, right?!?
WTF is, "saw this person who do SHotokan and gave me black belt in 3 days"? Your a real idiot you know!
Do me a favor, go back to the Cobra Ki dojo, watch the Karate Kid and get that Flying Crane thing down pat because your going to need it!
I don't discriminate between arts. I just look into reality and instead of determining which martial arts is the best, I try to get all the effective techniques from every art, unlike your sorry ass, who just sits behind computer all day. I'm 6'4, I bench press 370 pounds, deadlift 770 pounds and I can do three-finger pushups 100 times. HAHAHAHAHA. You really think talking behind your computer and acting tough is gonna make people look upto and believe that you're strong. LOL. ANd btw, be more creative with insults. I've called you a dolt with a puny brain and you use that insult back at me because your brain isn't creative enough. Shotokan is limited from Politics? bullshit. "saw this person who do shotokan and gave me black belt in 3 days" if you called me an idiot for saying that, well thanks for humiliating yourself in front of metacafe because on previous comment, I've stated that that was an example of you. HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Dumbshit, learn how to read. Why is it that everytime I go to sites that deals with martial arts, I see childish people like you defaming other arts. You really think I only do TKD? I breakdance and learn wushu from my friend at same time. Do me a favor, although I'm being repetitive, just F**k off from metacafe so that you don't contaminate metacafe society with your gayness, cancel your internet service, use that money to go jerk off with that Yaguchi guy, or whatever you call it. I need to grow a brain by going to Shotokan? Did I ever defame or discriminate any martial arts? I'm not the one who said that Chinese and Korean martial arts are weak. Dumb S**t And btw, AAU is American Amateur Union. You fight few amateurs and say that chinese or korean martial arts are weak. And just to let you know outside of box, everyone knows that you're being the most childish loser in this site who is S**king upto Yaguchi and Shotokan pride. If you didn't know, instead of showing how great Shotokan is, you've only humiliated Shotokan and showed everyone who pathetic Shotokan is, and why people shouldn't take Shotokan because people might be assholes like you if they take Shotokan. This is so fun, I love laughing at and humiliating little kids like you who sit behind computers, talking beef about one martial arts being superior, and S**king your master's C**k .

As far as the name calling that is not what I was doing. I was using your quote and then replying to it. Besides the only thing all the name calling does is prove how childish you are. GROW UP!

he started his training in korea and actualy failed his first black belt test. if you want to brag about an american who trained in japanese arts go with joe lewis now that boy could kick hard.
By so lost 1145173943 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs far as "he (Chuck Norris) started his training in korea" that's wierd! At a dinner, back in June 1995, he told myself, my father, my 2 uncles, my cousin, and Ray/Chris Dalke that he origionally began training in Shotokan (approx. 9 months) back in 1959 (I think on the year) when he was in Japan in the USAF and later moved onto Tang Soo Do!?! He must have been telling lies to get on our good side, due to the fact he knew we were all trained in Shotokan!?!
As far as Mr. Lewis I must agree he did and probably still does have a very lethal back kick!
As for Kung Fu being weak.... I will forever stick with it's not, as Kung Fu is based on speed and technique and from that is power is derived, now he never said your arts were worthless, matter of fact that would be going against what he was saying, and btw, the point of MA is not to fight if you hadn't caught that by now, it's to avoid fighting, or if you must, use the least amount of force neccesary to disable your opponant, that's a show of true skill, because I could walk outside and break someones skull, but it would be alot harder to have someone try and hit my and me grab their wrist, say with a snake block, roll them into me and chock them out, making sure they know who's the dominate force, it would be even harder for me to continuously block until they were scared and discouraged, which would be my prefered way to go if I were not feeling particularly endanged. So Mr. Jump at the first chance to fight on the net, please quit attacking the other intelligent, sentient beings. Have a nice day :) and P.S. I could spin sidekick you and you'd NEVER see it coming ;)
By MonkeyGuy 1145180761 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFirst, "Kung Fu is based on speed and technique and from that is power is derived", what MA isn't? However, what do you think is going to end a fight quicker, a well placed reverse punch or someone trying to tap you in a specific nerve point with their finger tip/s? I'll put my money on the reverse punch!
Second, "the point of MA is not to fight if you hadn't caught that by now" no kidding? However, when push comes to shove!
Third, as far as "continuously block until they were scared and discouraged". Why take the chance of having the other person landing a blow?
Fourth, "Mr. Jump at the first chance to fight ", hardly! I've walked away from more fights than I care to remember! However, if someone catches me on the wrong day and calls me out, I will not throw the 1st punch but I WILL do everthing I can to make sure it's the last time this person and I ever meet!
And last but not least, "P.S. I could spin sidekick you and you'd NEVER see it coming", the only gut to ever hit me with one of those was approx. 6'10"/265lbs and it felt like a hard slap, at best! Besides I'm more than sure I could land a front snap kick with a hell of alot more power before you even finnish your rotation!
P.S. If you have any questions please refer to the vidoe on page 2, "Karate vs different KF styles" and see what happens! Later, Kevin.
Is an extremely powerful kick, which I, at 160lbs. can knock my Sifu, at 225lbs. back about 5-7 feet, and can knock another one back about 10 feet as he only weighs about 165lbs. So no, it wouldn't feel like a hard slap it would knock you back/off your feet, and if i dropped slightly and put some lift... I'm quite confident I could move you some 10-12 feet... now, it's also obvious that you no nothing of Kung Fu, as that video on page 2 you refer too shows Black belts of Kyukushin Karate vs. various belts of Drunken Kung Fu, which is not on my top anything list btw... if it were say against Wing Chun (or Tsun) I'm sure it wouldn't have been so far tilted towards the Karate, not that I'm saying that all the rounds would go to Wing Chun, but it wouldn't have been all Karate then... now, I'd also like to see you front snap kick harder than I can spin side kick, and as for the pressure points... well I'm thinking Dim Mak is Karate... but I could again be wrong... however, Kune-Ki-Do and Wing Chun is not all about nerve endings... so yes i repeat, you are unarmed. oh and I just like alittle sport when fighting, that's why block until they are scared and discouraged.... Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1145238144 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen I was at my peak I generated just over 1800psi on a kick pad with front snap kick! My uncle, 7th dan, did almost 2000psi! With your spin kick the only power you have is your rotation. With front snap kick you have your base (the ground) and you are pushing straight out with your hips and legs! The reasearch done at UC @Riverside proved front snap kick and/or side thrust kick were the 2 most powerful kicks! Both are good for breaking bones and/or killing someone! Look at it this way, what is going to do more damage a whip or a SLEDGEHAMMER? However, as I stated before I have only been hit once with this kick (in the right cheek) and it didn't hurt that bad. Hell, it only knocked me off balance by maybe 2 steps. Then again the guy was only approx. 265lbs however he was a blackbelt, of what rank I'm unsure! At the time I was only shodan. Have a good evening. Kevin.
By Shotokan 1145243075 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe side kick is not a roundhouse, it is a kick executed with the heel of your foot, it's a powerful slam/push kick, like gettin hit with a sledgehammer like you said, whereas our front snap kick IS a quick snapping kick with the top of the foot, front push kick is our frontal powerhouse kick that is VERY close to as powerful as a spin side kick... Anyway, I've got to go to work in a few minutes.... so I'm out, but first I'd like to ask.... how do you know my name? I don't seem to remember putting it out here... Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1145272989 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYour right, SIDE thrust and/or snap KICK come directly out from the side and strike with the heal (sidethrust) or outside edge of the foot (sidesnap). However, you said, "P.S. I could spin sidekick you and you'd NEVER see it coming"! I assumed this ment you performed some type of SPIN, hence the name SPIN sidekick?!?
When it comes to front snap kick, the knee is brought up to the chest, you SNAP your leg straight out at the knee, push your hips foward (for power) and make contact with the ball of the foot with the toes pulled back. You do not make contact with the top of the foot, like you kicking a soccer ball, with any kick Shotokan at least!
And last, what do you mean, " how do you know my name? Later, Kevin.
In Kune-Ki-Do a spin side kick is a backwards spin to a hard Side Thrust kick if you prefer, we call that a side kick, a front snap would be something like punting a football but not stiff legged the whole way as a punter would do, your leg comes up, and snaps out, it's basically a ball shot, which is why I don't like it, but at the same time it can be used to faint really effectivly with, so I do use it to pull off a trick roundhouse, cresent or side kick, and btw, my name is Kevin, that's why I was asking how you knew my name
By MonkeyGuy 1145473446 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI train in Kung Fu and I'm not sure if you remember this guy named Bruce Lee, great man, brilliant, and probably the best fighter ever, a majority of his moves were from, oh what's that? KUNG FU , Wing Chun to be more precise, he also incorporated some other stuff including Japenese and Korean Martial Arts, but by no means is Kung Fu a "P***y " art, and I'll prove it to you. Have a nice day ;)
By MonkeyGuy 1144949823 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings but it's the truth. Most Chinese stles are refered to as, "soft styles". When their punching and kicking mechanics are matched against Shotokan's punching and kicking mechanics they do not develope as much power, period! About 12 years ago there was a studie done on striking type martial arts @the university of Calif. Riverside. When the studie was complete, Shotokan was shown to have the most powerfull and fastest punches and kicks. As far as Brcue Lee goes, yes I've heard of him and as far as, "best fighter ever", please. How many times did he fight in competition to prove how good he was? Once maybe!?! Also, most if not all of his power techniques are taken from Japenese styles! As far as you proving it to me, that's a good one! The last idiot who tried that got a broken nose, broken eyesocket, cracked jaw and 2 broken teeth from 1 reverse punch! He was a kung fu practioner as well. The moto of Shotokan is ikene esatsu, "kill with one strike". Chinese styles seem to want to wear their opponent down by atrision "strike 1000 times and see what you got"?
By Shotokan 1144960974 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeotherwise you couldn't have hit his jaw, nose and eyesocket in one punch
By the sea 1145004648 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI hit him just under the eye socket. It was actually the jaw hindge that got broke! Poor guy had to have surgery to repair, so I heard. Felt like S**t afterwards.

By Shotokan 1145249153 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebut I DAMN sure agree now Judo/jujitsu girl, Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1145180868 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"Kill with one strike" that is so not Shotokan. Do you know some one called Gichin Funakoshi? Search for his 20 principles, martial art is allways first a state of mind and this is true for real and for competition fighting.
And bye the way there is a move in kung fu called the fist of the dragon invented by a guy who win a lot of real fights against masters of jijutsu, masters of Shotokan, masters of Boxing, etc... This guy name was Bruce Lee...
Well, sensei Yaguchi may beg to differ with you. I have trained with him many times @ his dojo @226 South Broadway (in Denver). Sensei Yaguchi is one of Master Funakoshi's, the founder of Shotokan Karate, origional pupils. This is not a widly discussed subject in Shotokan because Karate is supposed to be defence, however it is true. If you would like his home ph# I could probably dig it up for you and you can argue the point with him but be careful he has a short fuse!
As far a Bruce's Lee dragon, 5 finger, tap the chest, 5 steps later your heart explodes is BS! People who believe this S**t works also believe they can absord any hit because of their "chi". I saw an idiot who tryed to absorb a back kick and got his sternum cracked!
Also, how many fights did he win that were actually witnessed and/or documented? ONE, MAYBE?!?
and not the fist of the dragon that you can see in movies, it is based on speed on concentration, that'all you really need in martial art. It is actually pretty effective and it is based on the same move that breaks ice, or bricks. And if you can do it properly it won't make your heart explodes, but it will break some of your ribs.
By fstein 1145045445 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIts nothing mistacal its just focusing your power and not in a glancing blow. extremely basic explanation
By so lost 1145174103 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebe nice
By so lost 1145174143 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIs such a F**king Dumbass. Korean styles are no good for real fight? You know Kyokushin Karate? Don't fuckin say that Kyokushin Karate is Japanese because Masutatsu Oyama is half-Korean, half-Japanese who was born in Korea and his first primary two martial arts were Chinese Kempo and Korean kempo. You understand? you racist son of a F****t ass bitch!!! And Tae Kwon Do owns Shotokan. I got a black belt in Shotokan in less than a year from a college. That's how easy Shotokan is for people to master. All those bunch of lame self-defense techniques, forms and styles. Shotokan is gay. It took me 6 years to reach 2nd dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I still have lot of goals to achieve in Tae Kwon Do. ITF owns Shotokan. I quit Tae Kwon Do 2 years ago and I have interest in Muaythai. Enough said. User named Shotokan is an ignorant piece of Jap S**t .
By StuntFreak 1149450539 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs a martial based dance routine, it's great.
As a showing of actual fighting ability, it's poor.
Taken for what it is, she does a great job and show good control and flexibility, but i would not hesitate to stand in front of any kick she could muster up.
As a martial art based dance routine, it's great.
As a show of actual martial ability... it's extremely poor.
Taken for what it is, a dance, you can argue she does a good job, but i would not hesitate to stand in front of any kick she can muster.
Anyone who's been in an actual fight knows power isn't everything.. the correct placement of a blow to the body is just as, if not more, important than the power behind the strike.
I would much MUCH rather be kicked in the shoulder, back or chest by a powerful kick then a swift kick to the back of the head, mid tricep or the meaty part of your forearm. Renders specific parts of your body useless for quite some time.. Don't believe me? Try it on yourself. Quick tap should do it
I havnt trained shotokan for more than a year, so i am a real rookie. But i have learned during this time is that shotokan is the about one hit, one final punch or kick to end the battle atleast thats how we train. one final overpowering move. thats probably why shotokan came out so good in that test at that university, as the fastest and most powerful.
By Karate guy 1145043155 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveShow me some results and I'll lighten up, but as for speed, Wing Chun (or Tsun) should by far be the fastest of arts, though it's also mostly hands... as for kicks, you've got me, but I can tell you that Kune-Ki-Do puts out some hellacious power in it's kicks as well as being fast. Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1145182000 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveShe is so fast in the kick movements. She is great!
By bremex 1158964976 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs I mentioned in other posts, I myself fight Isshin Ryu Karate (okinawan, google it).
Our Kata never wins any forms contest (mixed martial arts), because our form stresses more combat style katta (staight power and simple techniques chained together, not beauty).
This is a nice katta keeping quite simple techniques, but her form is fabulous (even her being white). Being extremely flexible helps.
I prefer watching this to some Tae Kwon Do gymnastics routine which sometimes totally lacks form and control of the body.
Just to mention, I personally only like sparring, but katta like that shows she has beautiful technique and form (at least for me).
that criticize this girl are simple. You're all posers and just jealous because you know nothing of martial or any other type of art.
By omnisay1nce 1144898228 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you actually read some of the comments, you would realize that some of us know what we are talking about. If you realy knew what you were talking about, you would know that high kicks are impractical, and agree with us.
Dont judge before you know whats going on
otherwise known as superfoot wallace. what was his famous line? oh yea I kick people in the head it's what I do. having talked to people who have gone to his seminars you can try and sweep his suporting leg but you will pay for it. and yes he can fight on the ground he screwed his leg up doing judo.
By so lost 1145173494 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's what I'm saying.... and BTW, try telling Jet Li that Wushu is "just a dance" and can't be used in real fighting, I'm sure he'd be willing to make an example out of you ;)... Have a nice day :)
By MonkeyGuy 1144900469 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit has nothing to do with the style!
Its this particular rutine. Its impractical. I mean come on. when you watch this, can you imagine who, and where the opponents would be, and can you see any of it working the way she excecuted it. I dont.
its a kata. a pretty kata, and nothing more.
if you prefer, and I know this, so why are you replying that to my comment? All I'm saying is that it's a beautiful and practical art, not this form ofcourse, as it's used for disciplinary and show purposes, but Wushu as an art, and Kung Fu in general is not weak or useless. power comes from speed and technique, to generate more speed you must relax, and let your energy flow... force = mass * acceleration2 (squared), so if you have a 5kg. weight moving at 10mps (meters per second) you get a output of 500 Newtons if I remeber correctly, however if you have a 10kg. weight moving at 5mps you get an output of 250 Newtons, so yes power is derived from speed and technique.
