    • why is it cool?

I can do that too. The split and everything... What she lacks is tae kwon do style.. She has no style... She just stretches her legs doing some kicks.. So what?!. Where is the harmony??

    • TKD Is Flash, With No Practicality...

They're all about flash. How are you gonna bash Chloe's style? Martial arts isn't meant to be a flashy thing, it's meant to be a practical thing.

Regardless, Chloe Bruce has fake hips, so I'm not at all impressed by this routine. She doesn't really deserve any recognition at all.

of course you are't able to do that...you are just another jerk sitting in you room watching metacafe clips...she can extend and bend very well, but she just showed you a Show...not martial arts at all...

    • Good point

It even wasn't even a karate style. Just because she's flexible, it's hard to beleive she's a white belt. She does do some cool "flipping tornado round side kicks".

    • She's good, but nothing more

There's no speed/power to her routine, if she wanted to show off she could've done a lot cooler stuff.

That show she put on wouldn't help her at all on the streets (unless her attackers fall down laughing...jk, it was better than that)

It's a stage show/ demo and it's supposed to ENTERTAIN and in my opinion it certainly was entertaining. I certainly have no interest in whether her kicks have power or not. No matter what level of martial arts skill you are, you'd have to admit, she has some skill and looks hot as well. And I'll also second canito's comment.

she's on stage, there's music, lights and back up dancers. It's a show for chrisakes. So WHY would a sifu be judging her for advancing in this situation? It's a dumb comparison. Do you have a stage, music

been a martial artist for 16 years i would say amazing talent, great dedication and beatifully executed. i see what you mean about the power but as she wasn't fighting anyone i will give her the benefit of the doubt that she is talented. As martial arts isnt about power it's about skill, dedication and the determination to succeed.

    • dont agree

It has nothing to do with power. Its practicality.
In a real fight you cant survive on occasional punches and high kicks.

There is talent. Now she needs to know how to use it effectively.

remember the old days when martial arts was about self defence not ballet dancing? and to the guy who said there is no back kick in tkd what belt are you at? you should know a back kick by the time you have a yellow belt. If you don't I would look into a different school because your getting scammed.

    • ...

i'm not sure where to begin, first off, back kick is a BASIC kick so, i'd say by WHITE belt... and secondly Wushu can very well be transfered into real fighting, as I can personally prove, and I'm nowhere NEAR as good as that rather sexy chick... So don't go bad mouthing other peoples forms and arts because you think your's is special, becuase I'll let you come and train with me for a day if you think Wushu is easy... Have a nice day :)

By MonkeyGuy 1144900314 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • who said it was easy?

i said the kick should be known by yellow belt. I have seen these pretty nice patterns done by people who can't fight or defend themselves, but man do they look good doing patterns(and yes that goes for my own style as well). When I started doing this stuff24 years ago tournaments and demos like this took a back seat to what martial arts is realy about. Again I would not put down a kung fu system since my kickboxing was done under a white crane gung fu instructor who could still kick my ass without working up a swet. and thank you I did have a nice day. :)

for anyone looking to try and trash kung fu (no he was not the kick boxer I trained with, to Bad for me). and the other end of the deal would be benny the jet. karate stylest and I am sure any system has produced champions. As for women fighters this girl is a fany kicker you want a real fighter look up kathy long, she can kick ass. and I am still having a nice day so thanks again. :)

    • I agree

I Completely agree. High kicks are impressive, but not powerful. The only purpose of high kicks are for balance, and to make your lower kicks more powerful.
high kicks may be pretty, but in a real fight the other leg would get kicked out from underneath her, or if the opponent was smart, theyd get close to her. then shes helpless.
This was defenetly just a dance.

  • Get real!

Actually no style is any better than any other style. I have trained Martial arts for 35 years, and I train under several masters who have trained for many more. i have trained shotokan, Wado Ryu, Judo, Jeet Kune Do, Tai Chi Chuan, Qi gong , kick boxing and aikido. I have travelled and trained with many martial artists around the world. from all this I can say, with authority, that your martial skills are far more important than what style you train.

That said, it takes at least 3 lifetimes to master the martial arts, So I consider myself still very much a beginner. I have researched the martial arts a great deal and trained with and learned from some of the best practitioners on the planet and THEY consider THEMSELVES beginners. They all have open minds and are very keen to learn more.

All this "this style is better than that style stuff is menaingless. I have seen doormen with no formal training whatsoever rip a new one in dan grades and black belts and 'self proclaimed masters' of several styles. It is the skill - NOT the style that counts.

This girl in the video is very talented, but she has shown zero martial ability in this. she is excellent at this dancing kata, and no doubt does have powerful relaxed kicks and fast punches and much talent, but she does not show it in this video. her timing, from a martial, standpoint is terrible.

You need to assess the basics of your skills. from your feet, posture, timing (stringing the pearls), internal energy, external expression, mind focus, and much, much more. Apply all the basic principles to any martial art, from boxing, karate, judo, kung fu or even ballet and you will have excellent and very effective martial skill.

All this "My style is better than your style" is childish rubbish and you demean and disrespect your style and the masters who have passed on the knowledge.

As for Bruce Lee, sorry to burst your fantasies, but he was very fast and very talented, but there are 60 year old women in china that could hand him his ass on a plate. he was very good, and in western terms, revolutionary in mixing styles, but he was not the greatest ever.

You show yourselves to be unworthy of the title of martial artist when you resort to my style is better than yours.

    • I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU MORE

Finally, someone actually has their head screwed on.
These people need to realize that It isnt the style, (for the most part.) Its how well you do it.
Personally, i do judo, jujitsu, aikido, and shotokan. I find that a mix of those martial arts produces a greater fighter, but thats just because Im good at it.
Its not how big you are or how much power you have. Im a small girl. 5'4 115 lbs, and I Toss west point cadets around like nothing. High kicks i find are only made for practice, and improving your low kicks.
I dont realy want to get into the bruce lee thing, but if you think he was'the best' you're wrong, and you should wear a sign explaining how stupid you are on your back at all times.

High kicks can be efective if you know when and how to use them. part of combinations counters and so on. personal training is in the korean version of your arts. Tae kwon do , hapkido and for that international flavour some judo and kickboxing. did some shotokan when I was younger and enjoyed it. a lot of tae kwon do is from shotokan so the change was not that hard. TKD guys hate it when you mention that by the way. so have fun with it. ;)

  • BRILLIANT

It must be very difficult to mix dance, “shadow fighting” karate and looking so sexy on stage all at the same time.

Anyone out there who has ever learnt to be good at Boxing, Kick Boxing or Karate will know that it’s takes more stamina and energy to practice that type of fight training.

Constant kicking, especially high kicks, zap energy level very quickly, more energy is used “shadow fighting” than the energy used (in the same period) in the ring fighting an opponent, even holding your leg at 45 degrees for even 5 second isn’t easy

Shadow fighting isn’t about using power, its stamina, accuracy and endurance.

When you see professional boxers by themselves warming before a fight, you seee little power is in them punches however, when the trainer put the hand pads on you see the difference in the warming up technique.

A fighter loses more strength from a punch that totally misses the target as no energy is returned as is, when the punch fully connects with the target.

ALL THAT SAID, THE MAIN FEATURE IS BEING LEFT OUT BY MANY OF YOUR COMMENTS!!!!! WHATCH IT IN THE SPIRIT IT WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN IN. THIS IS FASCINATING FOOTAGE OF A GORGEOUS YOUNG LADY ENTERTAINING THE MASSES WITH HER UNIQUE BODY BEAUTIFUL DANCE AND KARATE MOVES, WE SHOULD ALL BE SAYING TO HER, WELL DONE AND WHENS THE NEXT ONE BEING RELEASED? !!!!!

  • Nice Video

Wow. Nice flexibility. For those of you internet warriors who are trying to determine what martial art she uses, just stfu and enjoy the video. Some will say it's Karate because video poster wrote it as karate or behind has a building that looks like Japanese fortress and she has styles and forms, some people will say it's tkd because her kicks are everywhere, some people will say it's wushu because it's a dance, some people will say it's capoeira because she uses her hands in ground to do kicks and she flips sometimes. Well guess what, this argument will never end. I did TKD and I can do handstand. Does that make me a capoeira fighter? no. For those of you who are comparing this dance with a fight and saying that she's weak, you people need common sense. There are arts that train to become a fighter, arts that train to become a dancer, and arts that train for specific purposes.

Obviously people who train to fight, like Chuck Lidell will kill this girl. There are some idiots who say that dance arts are weak and shouldnt train. You better guess again.

Ever heard of Wushu and Capoeira? They're both dancing martial arts. But when they fight, all their dance skills can be transferred to fighting and they have much more strength in their attacks than if they're using their strength from dance movements for fighting. Because I've seen with my eyes, my friend, who does wushu, beated the fuck out of this Muslim kickboxer in high school. Isn't kickboxer suppose to beat wushu fighter for fighting according to ideal fighting arts? All these martial arts comparison will never end because everyone has uniqueness and different characteristics.

  • Amazing, but...

Her flexibility is amazing and has fairly well defined techniques, but with the exception of her front punch, which part of that routine was actually practical? I don't think it's very likely you're going to be kicking someone directly above you or doing a flying double front kick going two directions in an actual fight.
I'm not judging too harshly, but I'd like to see an actual martial arts demonstration before I say whether or not I'm impressed.
