- yep
the pole on the bottom of the top is the same as the top of the base that holds it up. if the top stops spining it will most likely flip over. becuase magnets have two poles, the other side will be the opposite of the base, opposites attract so the top will fall sticking to the base like a refrigerator magnet

You misunderstood what Brysey19 was saying; basically, obviously every magnet has two poles. Picture the poles like this, from the upper side of the spinning top's magnet to the lower side of the base's magnet.

The repulsion is based on Lenz' Law. It needs to spin as the radial magnetic field of the spinning top continuously cuts a magnetic field of the base. The base magnetic field (invisible) is shaped like the open crater of a volcano......lol :) well done. If you buy the perpectuator: you can make it spinning for more than a day!

The floating top is caused by magnetic repulsion. Anti gravity by definition means the suppression of gravity and is not currently possible wtih known technology. Any 2 magnets will repel each other if the correct sides are close enough to each other.
