    i updated my blackberry desktop manager to bbdm 5 and i still can't find the shared folder what version of desktop manager do i need for this to work. i have windows vista on my laptop and xp on my desktop computer . will this work with vista?

    Instructions are incredibly detailed and easy to follow. However, once the vendor number is altered in the BlackBerry.axl file (in Notepad), there is no way to save it. Constantly receive error message that the file path is incorrect, and file is not saved. Of course, the actual save is the only instruction skipped in the video. I tried just opening the file in Notepad and, without changing anything, saving it...which was also unsuccessful.

      Interesting. There is no "trick" to saving the file in notepad. just File > Save. My only guess is the the file attribute somehow may be set to "ready only" on your PC and needs to be changed.
