I'm not a doctor, and wont get into the many different cemicals found and released during times of crises, but I have seen people do stuff like this and then not remember doing it. But if he did do it on purpose he should have the shit beat out of him.

One thing is that the driver was "lucky" that there was someone videoing the part when his keys were taken away. Did you notice that he didn't get his "a** whipped"?

There is nothing that could have EVER happened to him to cause him to do that. He saw that boy and I'd have a hard time believing he didn't see him or didn't have enough time to stop. Don't these people have a voice in their heads telling them right from wrong? 1. If I saw someone in front of me that I thaght I was gonna run over, the breaks would be on, 2. not to defend the driver - (he was definitely at fault and either on drugs or something) but I don't believe he turned purposely at the person on the sidewalk...if you watch he is full on the gas burning out the tires against the other car and then a slight movement caused the entire front end to shift right - he didn't actually really turn that much - and he was still full on gas...I don't know the details but the guy was not in his right mind and I don't believe that he intended to run over the guy on the sidewalk...maybe he had road rage or something and just had the gas slammed down and he couldn't react quickly enough to the shift of the car and then hit the guy...just a theory.
