Also, 3600 years is a very short cycle. If this in fact did happen in the past, we would have very detailed geological records of this.

i have been interested in polar reversal for a good few years now. my backgound as an electrical engineer has involved me in the properties of magnets and magnetic fields. my interest in ancient mysteries and earth sciences also fed my fascination with the numerous pole reversals in times past. i was aware a long time ago that we were due a polar reversal and i also knew the factors that would lead to a polar reversal. these it would appear will be in place as we travel through the galactic plane in dec 2012 an event that occurs twice every 23,000 years or so. the last time we traveled through the plane was at the end of the last ice age. it would be too much to offer an explaination with this post without the aid of diagrams but anyone interested can contact me and i can try to explain to them what it is that will make the planets poles reverse and the effect i think it will have on the planet . how much of an effect it will have on the population i have no idea but it is unlikley to pass without notice.
