All I hear on here is all these people that know show much about what to do, what's wrong. Why don't YOU, get an education, learn how the system works, learn how these other idiots think that are after us, and what you would do to protect your ass plus the people you love, and come up with a logical solution, and remember you have only one shot at this, and quit complaining about what you see on the news, because they word it to their likens to get ratings.

No doubt from Comedy Central (AKA the democrat national propaganda channel)
Think about it... every show on comedy central is against republicans... in spite of there being so much more funny material on the democratic side...
If this is the best they can do against bush after years and years of research then We must have a Dam Fine President! :D

    • Agree

when it comes down to it, the american people dictate the president's decision in most matters. We invaded Afghanistan because Americans wanted "revenge" for 9-11. The Bush administration did a good job convincing the American people they wanted to invade Iraq too. And you can bet that the next president will work on getting the troops out of Iraq, because national sentiment dictates to our leaders how they act.

    • It's "you're", Einstein

But bush can lie to Congress with fake information.

ie. Saddam has WMDs, buying uranium, planning on attacjing USA, he sponsored torrists, he supported the 9/11 attack, this war would last 3 months, the war would be paid for by oil revenue, the war would bring peace to the region, etc, etc, etc.

    • Don't Forget

Don't forget who was funding Sadaam when he got started... It was the United States who practically gave this evil dictator control of Iraq through funding and military arms. These effects can still be seen today in several instances throughout the middle east and africa because of the Cold War competition between the USSR and USA.

    • Wow...

A coup huh? That is quite possibly the dumbest thing that I have heard in quite a while. There were how many recounts? And they ALL proved that Bush won didn't they?! Honestly, do your research before you make yourself look ignorant.

By The_Goose 1146021701 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Actually Goose

It is you who needs to do your research. Bush did not win the presidency he was apointed the presidency by the supreme court, and FYI when the full recount of florida was completed Al Gore had won. They originally only recounted select precincts and when they wanted to recount the whole state the supreme court blocked it making charming mr Bush our president. An independent council had already started the full recount when the supreme court stepped in so even though it didnt matter because the SUPREME COURT APOINTED BUSH they finished the recount anyway and guess what? Gore won!!! An interesting side note to all that is that the mass american media was preparing to run the story of Gore actually winning florida on sept. 12 2001, but we all know what happened on the 11th so it barely got any press, and now there are misinformed idiots like Goose regurgitating whatever propoganda they saw on Fox news last night.

    • As usuak people talk and don't know what...

If course he won! Of course it is proved he won (but the foreign observers also know about the silly moves in Florida, but that's another subject). But you seem not to know about your own country is that the president isn't elected directly by the voters, but by the electoral college. Bush was the less voted candidate, mas had more electors in the college. Got it? It's a shame the American people don't know their own country,

By jamesvalley 1149631794 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • really?

REALLY? is that why the F**king idiot LOST the popular vote in 2000? is that why the whole F**king thing should have been done again in florida... considering none of the F**king idiots could figure out the ballot..

Bush had a 500 vote lead.. and the supreme court halted recounts... when he's only leading by 500 votes in florida (at one point AP gave a 286 vote lead...) and thousands of votes weren't counted because your republican secretary of state and jeb bush's bitch, Katherine Harris won't allow and extension of the deadline even after her F**king state fucked the whole thing up... how do you halt recounts? if anything... you redo the election in florida... disputes went on for a month.. you're telling me they couldn't have run the election again in florida in a month? wouldn't it have been the smartest surest way of finding out the rightful president of the united states? this is the PRESIDENT we're talking about.. i'm thinking we should be making some exceptions to rules regarding elections when it comes to the PRESIDENT OF THE US to make sure that we absolutely got it right...

    • A confusing ballot?

So you're going to claim that the ballot was "ridiculous and confusing?" How retarted are you?! I have personally seen that "confusing ballot" and it's not that it's confusing, it's just that people are idiots. It reallt is not that hard of a thing to check a ballot correctly. OBVIOUSLY Bush recieved MORE votes than Gore, because ALL of the re-counts came out in Bush's favor! Seriously, you must have NO CLUE what you are talking about! Bush won, it was fair, Gore has gotten over it! It seems that only Michael Moore and you are the only two idiots who can't seem to admit defeat! Had Gore been the president over Bush, he would have done a sorry-ass job of taking care of it! Bush is my President and, like it or not, he's YOUR President too! So just lay aside your bitterness and be a man about it all instead of throwing a six year temper tantrum! You need to admit that Bush WON the election SIX YEARS AGO, grow some testicles, and stand behind your President and your country.

if wanting our troops to live makes me unamerican then i guess i don't F**king belong here...

i'll grow some testicles and speak out against unintelligent domestic policies that displace millions of people who are part of the foundation of this country and foreign polices that allow our soldiers to die for the record profits of exxon mobile while you follow blindly....

    • well then...

If you don't want to support our "terrorist nation", get rid of your car and boycott gasoline. I'm sure it will get you far. And as for displacing and losing American military lives, they joined the military! There is no more draft! So they joined KNOWING that they may someday lose their life for their country. To say that they died for a lie is to dishonor them and their families.

By The_Goose 1148004869 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • No

The dishonor to the families comes from the blatant disregard for the welfare of our troops. And the use of them to further the profits of American Corporations. My saying that the died for a false cause isn't dishonor.. it's the truth. And we don't know whether or not they believed in that cause... much of the active military joined pre-Iraq. And unfortunately, whether you like it or not, they did NOT die for their country's protection... They died for a lie. Sorry but that's how it is. No WMDs. The terrorists from 9/11 were Al Qaeda from Saudi Arabia. Nothing to do with Iraq. But still we let Osama get away.

To say that they signed up therefore we shouldn't be so outraged by their loss is ignorant and a dishonor to their families. Just because they signed signed the dotted line, knowing what the risks were, doesn't mean it's ok to treat them like their disposable.

When i say that they died for a lie... i'm not doing some sort of disservice to their family.. i'm just telling the truth. If you've got any evidence that i'm wrong and that they DIDN'T lose their life for a lie, please... prove me wrong

It is... you're right... it is a dishonor to their families...

You mean the kind of support that George Bush is showing our returning veterans by closing Veteran's Hospitals and opposing legislation for medical care and other benifits? You mean the kind of support that translated to LYING at every turn to foment support for this illgotten and illegal war? This man is by far the WORST person to EVER occupy this office. And it continues to be so strange to me that people can still support this war criminal. Herd mentality, I guess. Let's just stop, and grow our minds. • The worst huh?

Well let's see... We were ALL attacked on Sept. 11. It was an attack on every American citizen. Therefore we had to retaliate against terrorsim and all those who support terrorism. Saddam supported terrorism. He gave finances to terrorist organizations, he repeatedly called for attacks on Americans, and he offered rewards for killing Americans. He was a terrorist therefore he needed to be removed. He was captured and is now standing trial. Personally I hope they gut that SOB. Then there's this 9/11 terrorist who goes on trial and is given a life sentence? That shows us to be weak. That S**ker needs to fry. But George W. Bush is not a war criminal. Hitler was a war criminal. Saddam was a war criminal. George Bush is an American and the leader of the free world at that.

    • Well...

Fist off all: Bush isn't the leader of nothing besides the USA. the free word is much bigger than america and quite independt of america.

America supported Saddam, do you know this? Againd Iran.

America supported heavily al-quaeda, did you know this? In afeganistan, against russia.

Unfortunatly, the media in america are very controled (and you think there's freedom). If you see british news, or other foreign news services, you'd know that probably that guy was condemned to a life sentence, and had nothing to do with it. It was just to show service to the people.

Hitler was a HUGE war criminal
Bush is a smaller one. But a big war criminal, still.

Yeap... and thanks to the stupid bush, america is even more hated... we are asking for it. Why can't Bush leave people alone? They have the right to be different! Iraq did nothing in sept 11th, Afeganistan, did nothing in sept 11th.

But now al-quaeda is well instaled in both countries. Now they have even more supporters... And the counties and their people are just ruined and in an endless civil war.

      Stupid strategy.
Every nation knew this, told bush... insisted and insisted... and still he needed to show how dumb he is.

To all you US Patriots: No, America is NOT the greatest country in the world, you are being laughed at by the rest of civilized world. And YES, you are screwed-having the biggest state debt in the world and no means of paying it back. First off, the video is part of a comedy sketch for a TV show.

Second, the US, for good or ill, IS the gratest country on earth. The problem is that, when we are lead by inferior leaders such as those of the current administration, we also become dangerous.

Third, the National Debt is indeed a problem that will need to be dealth with, but there is no nation on earth that can afford for America to go bankrupt. Our power does not come from our unsurpassed military, but from the ecconomic entanglements that force the rest of the world to have a vested interest in the solvency of the American economy.

However, if the Euro were to build the kind of capital momentum that is currently enjoyed by the US Dollar, that could change...

    • Sounds ok, but...

      Sure!

We are the longest enduring democracy in the world.

We have more world influence than any country by a very significant factor.

We have the greatest rate of innovation in existence (though this gap is RAPIDLY diminishing).

We have the greatest military in existence.

We have the finest health care (unfortunately it is reserved for those who can afford it)

We still have the finest higher educational facilities (though this gap, again, is being eliminated)

We have the finest scientific research facilities (though the world is catching up due to our poor public schools and the encroachment of religion into science).

We have the best Constitution. The document is a living being that is capable of adapting through time. Though there have been significant changes in our society, the Bill of Rights has remained unchanged (nor has there ever been a reason to change it) for 232 years.

Our Criminal Justice System, though flawed, is still the best in existence for balancing the rights of the accused with the rights of victims.

Our system of checks and balances has done an exquisite job of providing (up until now) a means of controlling government power.

There are many ways that other countries surpass us in particular areas, but in aggregate, we remain the greatest country. To keep that edge, we must begin to learn from the achievements as well as the mistakes of other countries as well as our own and use the power we hold as the powerful force of good that it can be. There is no nation who has the power to affect change that the United States does, nor is there even one that comes close.

If you are looking to change the world for the better, there is no one who would argue the fact that you should talk to the United States.

Unfortunately, you will have to convince our often misguided leadership not to make changes for the worse.

The reason that every other country is able to criticize the United States is precisely BECAUSE of our greatness. No one would care about the US or its policies were we not so great. Few people outside the US spend time criticizing France, though they have AT LEAST as many problems, both social and political, as we do, because France does not have the power and influence that we in the US do.

Keep in mind, though, that I and many others like me here in the US, encourage this criticism and, if it is done in the spirit legitimate debate, find it to be a valuable resource of different points of view. If, however, it is done in the spirit of blind Nationalism, we recognize it immediately and reject it as uninformed rhetoric.

I love this country. I see it heading in the wrong direction, but we have been headed in the wrong direction before and we ALWAYS perform a course correction eventually. Not all nations can say this.

When you think of the US, think of the power and influence we have and ask yourself if your country would do a better job with it than we do. If you can thoughtfully answer yes, c

---We are the longest enduring democracy in the world.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Democracy was coined in Ancient Greece in the 5th century BC!!! The Parliament of England was the first major step towards a fully democratic system during the Rennaisance, and it is still going! (15th century), so please study a bit before you open your mouth (or tap your keyboard).

---We have more world influence than any country by a very significant factor.

(We don't have any influence historycally. Greece has, Rome has, Portugal and Spain, UK, France... America is only 230 year old, and only powerfull in the last 50 years. And thanks to Europe (study a bit on this and see how both world wars made the America of today). 50 Years is nothing, and Europe and Japan are passing by, so we'll probably lose all the power again).

---We have the greatest rate of innovation in existence (though this gap is RAPIDLY diminishing).

That's a joke, right? Study it: go to wikipedia or something: JAPAN HAS THE GRESTEST RATE!

---We have the greatest military in existence.
Nothing to be proud of. It's stupid to be proud of something like that. Japan is a very rich country, people are happy, and they did it without an army. Any way: the combined military force of the european countries is bigger that the states, and Iran has a bigger military spending as a percentage of GDP than USA.

---We have the finest health care (unfortunately it is reserved for those who can afford it).

Another joke: we have the WORST helth care. In this case, ironically, CUBA has the best health care. But even Canada's is far better. And in Europe, health care is FREE for everyone!!! And education to! FREE!!!

---We still have the finest higher educational facilities (though this gap, again, is being eliminated)

AGAIN: so you check any of this before you speak??? in EUROPE, EDUCATION IS FREE!!! EVEN RUSSIA IS FAR IN FRONT OF US!!!

---We have the finest scientific research facilities (though the world is catching up due to our poor public schools and the encroachment of religion into science).

This is harder to verify... but if we assume the best instalations are in the most efficient countries, it's Japan. If we consider it is in the more developed countries and richest countries, it is in the north of Europe... If we consider they are were the big companies are, then many will be in USA, but also in Europe, Japan, etc.

---We have the best Constitution. The document is a living being that is capable of adapting through time. Though there have been significant changes in our society, the Bill of Rights has remained unchanged (nor has there ever been a reason to change it) for 232 years.

That's just an opinion without any justification. The UK doesn't have even a constitution, and has a more developed democracy then ours (ours didn't evolve for so many years...). One can't drink before 21, but can get killed at war... nice. Let's all have a gun. And censorship. And elect the president with less votes. And go outside our borders and practice torture... and have death penalty...

---Our Criminal Justice System, though flawed, is still the best in existence for balancing the rights of the accused with the rights of victims.

It's a lie: the jury system only beneficts the best actor. In the rest of the world, the justice is made cerebraly and imparcially.

---Our system of checks and balances has done an exquisite job of providing (up until now) a means of controlling government power.

Really? We elected a president with less votes than the opponent. And what could we do about the war in Iraq? I rather say that the governmet has the best means to check and balance the people, including media control. We only neew to see, for instance, foreign news services in countries more civilized and developed than our.

---There are many ways that other countries surpass us in particular areas, but in aggregate, we remain the greatest country. To keep that edge, we must begin to learn from the achievements as well as the mistakes of other countries as well as our own and use the power we hold as the powerful force of good that it can be. There is no nation who has the power to affect change that the United States does, nor is there even one that comes close.

That's just you full of yourself. The USA only affect by war... and the UN covers the holes. The UN isn't USA, but USA takes all the credits for the UN's work... even if the USA has a huge financial debt to the UN, the biggest in the world... And it's not like we can't pay it like... estern timor of something like that. And what about the Quioto treaty? yeahhh
Like I said before, the USA hasn't the biggest area, isn't the richest country, isn't the most developed country, doesn't have the biggest population... the USA is just FULL OF ITSELF. And is a poor liberal democracy, which takes it's people taxes, and gives nothing in return: no free health, no free education, no public transportation, no nothing.

In fact, everybody knows that the USA made all the bad things worst... I'll remember you that the USA financed SADAM!!! when in war with Iran, and financed heavily AL-QUAEDA in AFEGANISTAN, in war against russia. Money and power rule american decisions, and America changes sides as it wills. Afeganistan is worse. al-quaeda is in Iraq now, never was before... theres'a a civil war... people were just living their life an now they live in a real hell... Even the world wars were a business deal...

--- Unfortunately, you will have to convince our often misguided leadership not to make changes for the worse.

    • well,...

for bearing with you.... it's not like we have a choice now, is it? herein lies one of the biggest 'rubs' that everyone else has with/about america. even for those of us who are pretty level headed and trying our best to stay so. in other words, neither america bashers nor drum beaters. we can all only hope that your technical difficulties improve before georgie boy figures out which button is the red one and pushes it. because it's a sure bet cheney won't be so slow to do so!!
as to the other,.... yes, there are a very small handful of us who can thoughtfully answer yes to that question. BUT, in actual fact, we have smaller, more homogeneous populations, not nearly the land mass that the US has and therefore have done ok, better than ok, at handling our own affairs. so i won't say we could do better, given the same circumstances as the US has/has had, but i also won't give any credit to the US at this point because this shitty spiral of the US's has been going on for some 50-60 years or more now. except for the obivious, (carter, clinton), we've all seen how the americans are lead around by the nose. first this way, then that one. it's very sad and we are sorry for you. we'd probably have even more sorrow to offer you except that we need to save some for ourselves..... why? see my first sentence here

    • Clinton

Clinton did not step down, he had reached the end of his second term and was therefore ineligable for a 3rd (republicans made sure of this after WWII when the greatest US President in history, as well as one of the finest leaders of all time, FDR was elected to a 4th term).

Boy, am I glad that we passed THAT ammendment, else Bush could REALLY destroy the world!

As far as being patriotic, it is a GOOD thing! What is not a good thing is blind obedience and inability to think critically of one's own government. However, these things are not the mark of a patriot (at least, not an American one) these traits are the halmarks of conformity and intellectual laziness. An American patriot is one who supports his counrty, wants to see it continuously improve, and will speak up and take arms if needed to see this objective through; even if the weapons are taken up against their own government.

      To again quote Mark Twain:

A patriot is one who supports his country at all times and his government when it deserves it. I am a Patriot, and proud to be so; and my government does not deserve my support currently.

Of all the points above-how many of them are functioning as they were intended to? The only thing i praise is the Constitution, it's genius!(as you know-all simple things are genius). And you make a big mistake in the last sentence: when people think of America they think of rapping africans, fat people, dumb people, hollywood films and a monkey like-president. Don't believe me? Hang out on European or Asian or Russian forums, you'll see for yourself. P.S. Are you top researchers are for 70% Israeli or East-Block emmigrants.. sorry to dissappoint you

    • Re: ...psyche

Yes, when small-minded people think of Americans, they think of those things. They are called steriotypes and are no more valid for us than they are for any group.

As to patriotism, yes, I am a patriot. But, if you look at the responses to my other posts here, you will see that I am not the blind patriot that you seem to make me out to be. America IS a great country. That does not mean that there is no room for improvement.

Again, if your country was the SOLE superpower left in the world, would it do any better? Do you truely believe that you would act more morally as a nation than us? Or would you have the same problems we do: National interests above that of the world; corruption through corporate (or other powerful influence) medeling; and justification of a self-serving foreign policy through religious, ideological, or other means.

No country is perfect. We get the most flack not because we are the most imperfect, but because we have the most power and influence.

Also, a vast majority of Americans understand that all the governments in the Middle East are unnacceptable, and that the world in general, along with the people who live in the Middle East would benefiet greatly from freedom. There are a few who's profitable situations are being upset by change in the Middle East, and these few are proclaiming a bunch of sensational BS and getting a lot of attention.

    • America isn't popular everywhere

If you study history a bit, you'll see how the people reach "freedom" and democracy.

War always did the opposite: a return for the more conservative ways. Like dictatorship. It was WW1 and the subsequent misery in germany that allowed hitler to rise and rule germany.

Now it's happening in Iraq: there wasn't any al-quaeda in iraq, and know they are strong there.

The conservatives WILL win every election, so bye bye to democacy...

If people thought before making stupid wars...

And belive this: The whole europe despises America, middle east too...

Half of China finds america interesting and half of Japan. And nobody else.

A fair and accurate portrayal of the world's absolute worst leader of all time, the people who "support" this fool are taking us all down a very dangerous road. Hey Kid? Is that you? Billy? I have not forgotten you. "Mom"

  • Bush embarasses me!

The man is small-minded, thinks he speaks directly to God, borderline retarded and OUR PRESIDENT! When we go traveling out of the country this summer I'm going to pretend I'm Canadian! (AND, he won't answer the question about cocaine use, which means he's snorted a line or sixty.)

I believe, am certain the tape is fake and thus it hurts anti Bush people more than helps them.
If it is a joke, make sure that absolutely clear up front. In this case as a joke it is just stupid in my opinion.

    • And Nixon was a good president ...

Also a great politician. Things got crazy with the secret tape exposure so he regretfully resigned due to Watergate. Every president has some flaws though that is why we have a Congress to vote according to their constiguents views and keep a balance of power.

    • hei bioboy..

she's just yanking their chain. Swanie knows, as do we all, the score.
but i sure couldn't agree with you more regarding that 3rd term law. much as we would like to have clinton and clinton- type presidents be able to take a 3rd term, the risk of nixon or bush(!!!!) being able to do the same isn't worth it. talk about your antichrists!! or in this case anti- roosevelts. where you were right again. america was 'lucky' to have had that guy in that place at that time---- but just try and tell that to most of them today, of ANY generation. the ones who could remember, don't... and the younger ones can only say WHO??

Any American president is better than current fanatical dictators in Iran, Syria, Libya, North Korea, Cuba .... Anybody out there from these wonderful nations? Please share with us about freedoms you enjoy under your country's leaders.
