    The Trampoline idea was plain stupid... a pile of cardboard boxes or mattresses would be my idea but surely the fire department planner or even a stunt co-coordinator could have offered advice.

    what would your solution have been? the bear was freaked out and wouldn't come down on it's own - do we leave it there? form a human chain of hippies around the tree to protect it? go ahead - you'll be the first ones there for him when he decides he's hungry. oh - how about sending a guy in a cherry picker to coax it down with some fruit. you swear bears (or any other animal) don't fall off even bigger things in the wild....come on....

    ... they should have put mattresses around the trampoline.
    On the first trampoline rebound the bear was again almost as high as the tree ... and landed head first ! Bad planning! Hardly making things any better - he virtually fell head first from quite a height .. the trampoline was a stupid idea! .. they should have got the fire department with 10 guys holding a landing mat. That way they could have controlled the damping of the fall. Trampoline !! What Idiots!!

      don't believe everything you hear. That poor bear didn't look like it fell well-on it's head from that distance!!!. They must have said ithe bear was ok to avoid complaints. This video is not funny. It is sad. I am ashamed. Humans are much more dangerous to bears than the other way around. And from the looks of this video, some of us are idiots thinking this was the best solution. I am baffled at how anyone thinks this is funny.

    They should never placed the trampoline under the bear. They should have let him fall from twice as high, from the tree top he was in. Better yet don't use a tranq dart just kill the pest before it becomes a threat.

  • I understand that they needed to get the bear out of the tree for human safty. However, that bear could have broken his neck when hitting the ground. There should have been much better planning around that.
