Number one, Beckham is rated as the best free kick taker at his best. Noone curves the ball and lifts it over a wall like Beckham does. I also agree that Juninho is equally as good.

Number two, all of the people here that continually go on about Beckham being overrated and Ronaldinho being the best player of all time know nothing about football. Just because Beckham doesn't pull off supreme tricks and skills on the field doesn't mean he isn't a good player. In fact, the second best player in the world as voted by FIFA last season was Frank Lampard, who doesn't possess any of the technical skills Ronaldinho does.

Grow up, stop jumping on bandwagons and try not to follow the crowd for once. David Beckham is one of the best players of the last 10 years, and he isn't rated highly by the best footballers in the world for nothing. Yes, that includes Ronaldinho.

By the way, I'm in no way bashing Ronaldinho as I believe he's probably the most technically gifted footballer to ever walk the field.

I agree in a way. I've never though Beckham was suited to Primera football as much, though I don't think he's exactly choked. I think people started to bash Beckham after the 2002 World Cup, but people tend to forget that Beckham was rushed back from breaking one of his metatarsals in his foot and he wasn't exactly fit.

He's still a really good player. It's Real Madrid that's choking. They aren't properly managed in my eyes.

I think Beckham shouldnt be considered one of the best players because of he took some good free kicks. Pierre Van Hoijdonk was better in free kicks so what in your opinion he must be the best. All I am trying to say is soccer is not only about freekicks. I think Ronaldinho is the best player in the world CHELSEA gave 300 million dollars to him for his transfer but he denied it so it shows that he is better and a lot more valuable than beckham. If you are saying that Beckham is better than Ronaldinho watch the records of this years Champions Legue. And I think the best free kick taker in England is Frank Lampard.

I didn't say Beckham was the best in the world. In fact, I believe I've said that Ronaldinho is the best player in the world somewhere on Metacafé. Are you also saying that the only thing Beckham is good at is free kicks? That's a lie and you know it. Like it has been said, he's not picked for the England side, picked to Captain the England side or playing for Real Madrid because he's good at free kicks. Hell, they have plenty of great free kick takers in both sides.

David Beckham is a very good midfielder. No, he's not the best player in the world. He's not the best midfielder in the world, either. But you cannot deny that he is and he's a very good player.

You can't say that just because he didn't play as well as Ronaldinho in the Champion's League and that because Barça won this year that he's not good, that just doesn't make sense. Everybody has their off-periods.

I also agree that IN England Frank Lampard (who is my favourite player) is the best free-kick taker. But I still think that at his best, compared to anyone else's, David Beckham is the best free-kick taker in the world. But that's my own opinion.

Paulista Juninho from Brazil currently playing for Lyonais were the best free kicker in the. His free kick scoring and assist rate were much more higher than beckham.

the Juninho you're talking about is Juninho Pernambucano who plays for Lyon, Paulista is a midget who plays for a brazilian club in brazil.
