Its ok dont worry, if you want to delete it you can just highlight it and right click it.
Another alternative would be to click on the start button and than click on my documents, after you have gone there look to the left side and than click on desktop and than you will see a bunch of icons and things you have on your desktop and than you will see an empty space. That is your folder, you can delete from there.
