Please tell me you live somewhere far north (or south) where there really isn't any summer to speak of. I live in Florida, USA, where shorts and t-shirt, or surfing shirt, or no shirt, are the norm on South Beach, Cocoa Beach, and virtually anywhere south of Jacksonville. If a guy actually showed up in public wearing sandals, or flip-flops, or any open-toed shoe and was wearing socks, he'd be ridiculed by everyone, probably openly. Remind me, someone, to never accept fashion tips from this guy....
