On a warm day some kids are skating by the harbor. Instead of having a policeman on the corner of Linden and North in Reservoir Hill or some other drug ravaged corner the police have a man patrolling the harbor in a vehicle purchased for that purpose. He gets out of his vehicle and starts yelling at kids when he could be busting drug dealers in most any other part of Baltimore. The police will probably have his head for this but the real issue is why do we have cops going after kids at the Harbor while they could be out on corners busting the real bad guys. This story will probably make national news for all the wrong reasons. The sad thing is Baltimore is wasting tax dollars on far worse things than this. Mayor Dixon is now paying for homeless people stay in hotels in the county. In her state of the City address she implied that we are in for a budget crunch and we may not get our promised property tax relief. We need lower property taxes now! Stop voting in the people who refuse to cut our property taxes. There is so much waste in Baltimore City. We need to cut spending and insane services like housing homeless people in hotels in the county. Give the tax payers a break. We are TIRED of supporting ridiculous things like this. www.Baltimore2008.com is part of the answer. Spread the word. It has been 40 years since the riots (although in many areas it looks like they happened yesterday). Now it is time for rebellion! 1968-2008

    Based just on what I saw, I have to say that while the cop may have gone slightly too far, he's right. You, or your friend were a little smart mouth and could have gotten much worse. Someday you'll see why people like that cop are frustrated with today's lack of parenting.

    Based on what I did NOT see, I'm guessing you were skateboarding where you aren't supposed to. No matter though, see above.

      Okay, it seems I saw everything except where he got the kid in a headlock. I apologize, I was wrong. Everything BUT the attack on the kid was right, the kid deserved all but the assault. The cop was wrong to do that.

    I am a parent of two boys that are skaters. I was a skater, back in the day. I have been in law enforcement and I have to say that this beat cop with the electric cart, is on this assignment for a reason. He needs to find employment else where and get some anger management. Officer 'Rivererie' is going to end up in a ditch himself if he keeps up this attitude with the citizens he is suppose to protect and serve, no threat here, that's just the facts. I pity his children if he has any, and his wife or girlfriend, if he even has one, needs to leave now for the local shelter. Better off that way. He's gonna hurt someone or get hurt himself with that attitude. Skating is not illegal. Skater's however, do need to be a bit more responsible as to where they skate and not leave a mess. Wax on the rails or curbs. Don't trash the place and vandalize where you skate, it could be public property. I didn't, my kids don't. Oh by the way officer 'Riverie', a 'dude' is also a pimple or carbunkle on the hind end of certain live stock. The term used by the kids in this video, was appropriate and linguistically correct either way you slice it. I hope we never cross paths officer, and stay away from my children.

    did you say?If he keeps doing this kinda stuff he's gonna be killed.I think you mr.P***y policepuss are the one thats gonna get killed doing stuff like this.If this was my kid then I would be in jail right now pardner I can promise you that,because you wouldn't be able to do anything anymore.This is what's wrong with kids now days.They can't be kids.What kind of respect do you expect from them with your attitude.They will grow up to hate policemen because of cops like you.Why dont you take off that badge and give me just one round in the ring and lets fight like men.You are a disgrace to the few good policemen that we do have.if i would have been there I can promise you one of us would not be here today.If you carry a gun then yes it probaly would be me but if not then we would see what you are made of.PS hey kids why don't you go out and peddle some crack or break into somebodys home or worse.I dont' think it would be much worse than this idiot thinks that skating is
