In this video, I show you my homemade alarm clock. Essentially, I took a laptop and removed the mainboard and LCD panel. I reassembled them inside the wood frame. I mounted the board on the wood with stand offs. The actual alarm clock application that is running is not finished, but in the future, it will have a widget that changes as the day progresses, a weather indicator, e-mails read and maybe even a simple timed picture slideshow.

  I am still working on it, I have to add a circuit board that I made that times the backlight. I also have to finish the program. As it sits, I will agree that it is very ugly, but I want to eventually give it that MAC OS X feel...
