Pele dribbling, passing the ball between Eusebio legs. Santos X Benfica Club World Championship 1962. Eusebio, in that time, were the best player of europe.

Best Player Ever , he's the KING of Football !!!!!
unfortunatly Brazil could have added one more World Cup if it wasent for that vicious attack on Pele wich it resulted with a broken leg in the 1966 World Cup .

i agree pele is the best I think pele is better than any players like ronaldinho. Pele has always done something for his team and never had terabal worldcup or any games. I am not saying ronaldino is bad but i think pele is better than any player ever he is the most complete player ever.

  • im confused

pele dosen't suck. Doesn't matter if you don't think he is the greatest player ever, he still doesn't suck, thats just crazy talk. I do not think that Eusebio was ever better than Pele because Pele was much more of an all round footballer. Eusebio was a superb player none the less but he never possesed the vision for passing Pele had as a player.
It is an agreed fact that in 1966 Pele and Brazil had one of thier worst world cups. Don't forget that the players hacked Pele down to the ground in that competion. He broke his leg because of this!
The press cannot be depended on for evidence for what you want to say! As long as they sell papers they do not care about wheather it is true or not. The opinions of the press change all the time. And please note that all the quotes that person has collected to support his point are from the 1966 world cup!
Pele was listed as a national treasure, by the government, like Euesebio. Once Inter Milan offered $1 million for him in 1962. His club, Santos, who were know as the 'footballing machine' would be payed $5,000 to play abroad against European sides. That gives a good idea of how much Pele was worth!
Apart from all that Pele is a football icon. He coined the phrase 'the beautiful game' when he once said that football was 'o jogo bontio' in an interview. Those three words are what all modern football is based upon. Pele is a total legend, FACT.

  • Sad Thing

This isnt Eusebio for one and I just want to say Pele is brilliant but Eusebio is right up there with him. The sad thing is there are so many players today that arent noticed because they arent on top clubs or international teams. Ryan Giggs plays for Man U and he does such a good job but he doesnt get the credit he derserves. He has the ability to control a game and lead his team so well. ( That was a quote of the Brazilian coach when Wales had a friendly against Brazil and it was zero - zero all the way up till Giggs was subbed because the Wales coach new Giggs had 3 games in 8 days coming up for Man U and didnt want to tire him out. I only mentioned one player but there are so many more out there.
