  a very POOR landing. Approach speed was too high and the approach angle too steep. Didn't bleed enough airspeed before touching down; should have landed with a wing down to compensate for the cross wind. Not impressive at ALL

  had an unstable approach due to the conditions and didnt hold off on landing..
  meaning he was stil decending when he touched down..
  pretty dangerous, could have had a bad ending. lucky.

- You slow the descent RATE
  by flaring, that is, raising the nose of the aircraft as you approach the ground. The descent rate decreases, while increasing lift AND drag, which slows the aircraft down, allowing for a smooth landing. A true descent angle implies a nose DOWN attitude, which is not desireable. Hope that helps.
