Heatsink
How important is it to have a heatsink because i can't find one online and i have no way of getting one made. Also how could you keep the module portion of the laser centered without using a heaeetsink? By the way thanks this is the only video i could find on how to do this with a dorcy.

the biggest issue people run into is the driver. What driver did you use?

  The built in driver that is inside the dorcy flashlight. it's a typical boost driver, hence the need for adding a resistor.

  The heatsink I had a machine shop turn for me. just take the whole thing to them and as for a spacer/heatsink to fit inside the head but around the module.

when i bought my laser diode it said i needed a current resistorer to keep the cureent at 190 mah do u no where i can get that also how do i no how much voltage to put in it im pretty sure its that same voltage as your using though

  Each diode is specific for regulation that it needs to drive it at peak and whatnot. If your diode said 190ma you need to add exactly the 6 ohm resistor or a 7.2ohm resistor to drive this right off this modification.

  I was able to find a local retailer that stocked individual electrical components. Try calling around your town and see if you can find one where you are.
